So happy the parking madness didn't prevent you from starting. Watching this was a great way to start my day after my morning run! Here's to many more miles! Very well done to the both of you 🎉🎉
Congratulations on both of your performances. I kinda feel sorry for you Ben to have to watch Mary getting all those trophies while not getting one yourself. But since Mary is amazing, matching her is a challange :P I'm looking forward to the race next week. One question though: Do you think Mary handles the heat in Thailand better? It feels like compared to before you moved to Thailand Marys performances in comparison to the field have been better (though i might be totaly off the mark here. I didnt watch all videos in order and memorized every result ^^°). In any case, you two are amazing. I love your content and you help me keep my motivation up while i prep for my second marathon in september. My first one was last year with a disapointing time of 5:14:59 and a lot of walking. So i strive to be better this year. Greetings from Germany
Congrats on finishing strong guys!! 🔥🔥🔥 The 3:00am traffic and the heat right now here in South East Asia, big yikes! My heart rate's through the roof with this heat 🥵
I was feeling stressed for you at the start! Congrats to you both for getting to the race on time and running excellent times. The trophy cabinet will need some reinforcement for all of Mary’s trophies🎉
That would be a 15k right? Congrats to Mary :) I’m about to run a 15k race in my city, I’m super excited, a little nervous, but definitely looking forward to it. I appreciate your videos, they’ve gotten me much more into running and I’m enjoying it a lot!
HI there! Just stumbled upon the channel by (happy) accident and have been watching a ton so far, enjoying it! One little bit of nitpicking though (sorry, can't help it :D), in your channel info it says "Mary is attempting to run a sub 1:30 marathon". Just wanted to let you know. Now back to the watching part. Also good job on the 10 miler! cheers
Great running Ben and Mary, especially under those stressful circumstances. I was looking at a July half for my build up to the Great North Run so might just have to join you at Dorney. I did the 10k there back in July '21 and the race started at 1pm in 30+ degree heat. My hardest 10k ever, so fair play to you both for racing in that heat week in week out.
It seems you two have run quite a few "red eye" races lately. I'm genuinely curious as to how you feel messing around with your sleep cycle like this impacts on your recovery and performance conditioning? This year alone I've travelled between Europe and Asia twice, and each time when I've forced myself to be awake when I should be sleeping, it puts my performance conditioning into strained and negatively affects my HRV status. Have you picked up any tips from your red eye races on how to prepare and recover well from playing around with your body clock like this?
Oh man I just don’t know how u guys do it I really don’t - it was like 20 degrees here today (uk) and that was hot enough - sooooooo July Eton Dorney great venue ! I’ll search it up I’d love to come down and run the half / hay ❤ and Mary congratulations AGAIN 🎉!!
I was thinking of going to that race... but it was to early in my program! My friend from Ethiopia his name is "kabedde aberre" asked me about it, and I thought of going! Its really sad, I could of met you guys! Massive respect to you and mary! I hope I see you again, at amazing thailand! ❤
Don't do double knots, but instead stuff the loops under a lacing on the top. If you've ever tried undoing a double knot in -10 degr. C, you know why. Until I startet doing it, a couple of times I actually had to cut the lacing on my army boots to get them off.
real respect, with that crowds, heat and 😂 rush to the start, and then do another good race 👍💪👍and mary congratulations again on winning 😁😎and Ben you also are a winner,🍻 after that messy start ,😉 cheers 👍🍺
This was great, you both did amazing, and watching the joy on Mary’s face when getting her award was absolutely delightful. It’s an amazing feeling when we make ourselves proud!! Well done!
As someone who is waking up at 1am-2am daily i know what you mean by (already lived a day by 10). Also had the same traffic jam hectic race start this weekend as well, very stressful when your warm up is running to the bathrooms 30secs before the gun hahaha
Whilst living, working and running in Thailand is pretty damn cool, I really couldn't be doing with having to run races in the middle of the night. And soooooooooooooo many people, too. Huge congratulations, Mary. Fell free to come and have a run with us in New Zealand instead though :)
Another one for the "Pink" Great job Mary, and Ben as well, I can not image the stress of the traffic, then the race to get to the start. Would have un-nerved me! Love u guys, thanks for sharing the journey, good luck next weekend!
Great job to you both! Just discovered your channel this winter and just in time for my half marathon training. I shifted to your training plan because I love that you build a recovery week in each block!! Worked great for me, got a huge PR in the half after 12yrs since my last attempt. Love you guys, keep up the great work! ♥️ From 🇨🇦
Big thank you to my anxiety for always having me show up to a race at least an hour early and go through an absolutely ritualistic pre-race prep-- To avoid things like this!!
Massively well done to you both ,I hate it when things beyond your control start to get in the way of my routine, like traffic and I've had the lace issue on races ,but we'll done to you both
Absolute chaos!!! Great running both of you despite the frantic start. I will try and sign up for the Dorney half! I have unfinished business with that race as you know 🥵 But Dorney is where I got my first BQ so I also love it there. I’ll make sure I’m sporting my new messhaps t-shirt 🥰🥰
Can't say I've heard of a 10 miler. Its a nice round number but thought most races these days are in kms apart from marathons but obviously not the case. Well done 💪👍
Congrats to you both! Must have been one hell of an adrenaline spike just before that race start! How would you begin training for a 15K/10M race as a runner that has done a couple of 5K and 10Ks? Follow a 10K plan and extend it of follow a half marathon plan and end it early?
Great job to both of you and especially to Mary for another win! You're going to have to build her a She Shed in the yard to display all the trophies. 😅
That stress does not appeal to me 😊. You guys are impressive athletes. Tuck those loose loops under the crossed laces and they should never come undone. At least they haven’t for me.
