Anything from Asics especially the Gel Nimbus makes you feel like running on clouds.

I use Gel Cumulus. About to get myself a new pair of hopefully the exact make and color.

LUCY is ON- time to jump on the treadmill! I work from home at a desk all day as well. On the average day, I was only getting 3300 steps per day. I was really putting the weight on after converting to full time work from home. Now, I have a little treadmill and I aim for 10K a day. I enjoy the challenge to get those steps in as the day winds down. And I am 100% in agreement with you on running shoes often coming in ugly/ less desirable color combos. For the price, I want something that makes me feel cute and supports me in my runs. Personally, I wear Brooks Adrenaline. They come in wide widths to allow your foot to expand while running. They don't have the best color options/style either, but they work to keep me from getting shin splints. Epsom salts are not a placebo effect. They contain magnesium that helps with muscle recovery.

Get those trainers on, I’m here! 😅 Having a treadmill at home is useful and a great way to help get to your 10k goal 🙌🏼 Thank you for the trainer suggestion and also I didn’t know that about the salts. It’s good to know it’s not all in my head 😆

“Where are you, get them on, let’s go” 😂 Love it ❤. I use decathlon Kalenji active grip. Surprisingly good for the price. Bought them to start with 5k, but still use them even for 10-15k, and never had knee pain or any other issues with them

I work in an office, 12 hr shifts at a desk. I had them get me a stand up desk. If I was able to work from home I would do a stand up desk with a desk treadmill. Also, I wear Brooks for running and everything else, they do have wides as well. Love your videos❤❤

I love Nova Blast 4 from Asics I used these for my 15k and was able to run most of the race literally stopped at the last half of mile of the 10k only because of blister. I didn't break them in enough yet so I had a blister but ran the whole time. I didn't feel any tightness or needs to stretch. Oh and New Balance V12 for daily training has been great as well for me. 😊

I love Altras, the natural foot shape is perfect for my feet, and once I got used to the zero drop, it was terrific for my back and knees. You'd need one of the designs with the wider natural foot shape, they're super roomy for your toes so that your feet can spread out properly. I liked the Hoka Clifton 9s design-wise, but had to return them because they rubbed on the back of my heel, even with the heel lock engaged. I never have that problem with Altras.

@@lucyshawvlogs They won't do you wrong! Although I think it would be cool if you did a big review video of different running shoes, some you know you love and others you haven't tried yet. Something I would talk to my running buddy about is what kind of gear we love and don't love :)

I got injured in February and had to heal and then after I healed, I was scared to run because I'm obese still and I have a long way to go. You have inspired me to get back to it!

I can understand that fear! I believe in you and the hard work you put in will get you to where you want to be. The journey is what makes it so special, so when you reach your goal you’ll feel even more amazing for getting through that long way to go ❤️

My favorite trainers at the moment are the Altra Torin 6. I had severe bunions on both feet but got them surgically removed. My feet are still pretty wide though 🤷🏻‍♀️. The Altra shoes have a really wide toebox and i love them ❤

Full disclosure, I had to look up DOMS. Sounds like my arms from the last couple days of lifting. They were even sore today just pumping while running, but as I got up to a mile mark, they were noticeably less sore. Here's to physiology that doesn't make sense but does work! Cheers 😅

hey Lucy - thank you again for another brilliant video! you are so busy and i for one really appreciate it, you keep me company when I'm having breakfast or lunch - I work from home AND live alone! Re the lady with the evil eyes - that negativity is all centred from her - it has nothing to do with you! whether shes jealous, embarrassed that she would never have the motivation... whatever it is... let her keep her bad vibes and just smile it off. Sometimes I even like to "kill em with kindness" and be overly friendly!

Hi Lucy. We have always used Brooks Adrenaline. Since their GTS18 model. They do them in wide and they are slightly supportive. Maybe you should have your gate checked again in case you need a different shoe next time xxx

Lucy I have wide feet and am a mid foot striker. My feet are thick like bricks and I have a thick mid foot, both vertically and horizontally. I love the Brooks Ghost and Ghost Max. Neutral support on those. I use the Hoka Speedgoat for trails. Hope that helps. 🏃🏻‍♀️😀👟🏃‍♀️🌈

I love Saucony and Merrell trail shoes with the huge lugs. I too run around training areas so it's gravel, dirt, sand, grass, trail, concrete, asphalt... I just like the versatility and the duration. They last forever and usually I have to throw them away, not because of the wearing of the sole of the shoes, but the uppers get too many holes and then dirt gets into my toes. But otherwise they last me for a couple years usually on rotation.

You’re such an inspiration, I find that i’m such an all or nothing type of person and I’m trying to break away from it. I’m just curious can a run still be a run even if you walk through it ? - I just can’t possibly see myself running for a straight 30 minutes and sometimes need to walk a bit before picking back up.
@lucyshawvlogs
@lucyshawvlogs 3 месяца назад
Thank you so much! 🥹 YES! That’s the great thing about running, there are no rules like that. When I first started I had no choice but to walk in between the running because I physically couldn’t run for longer than 30 seconds. So if you need to walk then do 🫶🏻 I have a video about how I ran my first non stop mile. It’s full of details about how I got to run without walking breaks. Hopefully that can make you feel better about needing to walk 🤞

I'm trying to get in the habit of doing a few minutes on the exercise bike as a warm up / cool down when I go to the gym, which I think is helping. As for shoes, I usually check out EddBud's running shoe reviews or Fordy Runs (I'm pretty sure he prefers wider fitting shoes). Getting out there on tired legs is tough going, so well done!

I used to use the bikes as a warm up when I first started going because I was too shy to walk straight into the weights section 😫😂 Thank you for the suggestions! 😀
