Running Rudding Parkrace - The Race With The Best Goody Bag! Is This The BEST Race In The UK?

Friends told me I couldn't miss this race and they were right! It is an absolute gem! Unfortunately I'd not checked the dates and it was just two days after I ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon! I still loved it and it was so nice to be running something shorter and faster.
Rudding Park is an incredible place to run and I really loved the trails. The goody bag was out of this world and the post-race food and drink was a real surprise. I can't recommend this race highly enough!
This video tells the story of the third running of the Rudding Parkrace... Quite possibly the best 10km race in the UK!

Amazing Nicola - great 10k and I salute 🫡 you for doing it so shortly after the marathon. Thank you for being so vulnerable and so raw - I’m a huge advocate for how important it is to be authentic and how running positively impacts mental health and you show exactly that in every video. Also, that’s one epic goodie bag! Great video as always 🫶🏻

Thank you, my emotions take me by surprise sometimes but it's all part of the journey. I think after a tough day, plus being tired from the marathon and then pushing through a 10km and then being on a high at the end of the race it was like a huge emotional rollercoaster! No wonder I was feeling emotional. I think a beautiful sunset is a great thing to have a big cry to 🌅 I definitely felt better afterwards ❤️

Wow that goody bag was awesome! I love the towel especially! Thank you for always being so honest and open about how you’re feeling. Ben would be so proud of both you and Poppy and I feel sure he is watching down on you both. You’re doing amazing 💛💛

many years ago i did the Woodland Challange race when it was held at Stothes Hall campus in Huddersfield and you should have the goody back full of food tins etc like Beans stuff like that

That is insanely good value. Our local run (Roon the Toon) is a fantastic 10k at £20 and includes t-shirt; medal; free football ticket; the best empire biscuit; banana; water and amazing support. That said, your run is so good!! Hog roast?! Jog to hog! Well done.

Wow what a race and you can't beat the price. It is getting harder and harder to find races that offer an extraordinary experience at a decent price. Even without the goodie bag the race would've been worth it. I have a cheap one coming up and they offer the best breakfast in the state afterwards. Always one of my favorite races. Also funny how you have beers after a race. In the Midwest they were a thing but I live in a state now where that is frowned upon. Another great video and love seeing your running adventures.

@@NicolaRuns I live in a fairly religious state (Utah) so the majority of people don't drink here. The rock n roll race series had beer at the end but I can't remember many other races over the past decade that offered it. Same deal with coffee as well. I loved your Leeds Marathon video as well. Just watched it last night. Why the late start on that one?

@@eddiegaul1903 Ahhh, that makes sense. 9am is a pretty standard time to start a marathon here. Edinburgh starts at 10am which I think is late! 8am or 9am are typical. What are they there?

@@NicolaRuns most races start at 7 am ... The big ones at any rate. In the winter the local runs will start at 9 or 10. In the summer no later than 8. It gets to be about 100f day time here from mid June until early September, so the heat can be sort of intense. Fortunately it is a dry heat

Great video as always Nicola. Fab time too on a trail 10k+ shortly after running a marathon, well done. Unbelievable goody bag. Always good to let emotions flow rather than trying to bottle them. Keep going Nicola, looking forward to the Edinburgh Marathon video when posted, I ran the half a few years back, loved it and PB'd too 😊 Thanks for taking the time to film stuff we take for granted 😌, much appreciated.

Thanks Paul, I was so happy with my time given how my legs were telling me they were feeling! 🤣 I'm currently editing Edinburgh 😃 That goody bag was unreal wasn't it?! I think you're right about emotions, I just thought I'd be able to say I was sad without getting emotional but turned out I couldn't! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ It's all part of the journey isn't it and at least I had a beautiful sunset to cry to ❤️

I guess it's hard not to cry when you care so much, and it'll never leave you. I think if you carry on doing the things you love and take pleasure in and be grateful for simple pleasures all help. Keep going and keep enjoying the cake...😊

Well done , nice goody bag , i dont believe our loved ones are gone totally , when the feral black cat comes into the house he always hisses at something i cant see , i cant explain it .I like to keep an open mind , i suspect its my parents because they know im alone and even at 54 they are still watching out for me lol . So dont be sad im sure theres a lot of stuff going on we dont know about .Take care 😉

@@NicolaRuns had a good one at Huddersfield today 21 minutes 38 beating last time by 2 seconds came 53 out of 677 i hope it is held there on christamas day as will defo do it i see from park run app you did Glossop today thats my next one next Saturday
