I've done the same thing a time or two. Its nice to have a bigger tractor and smaller equipment cause you can tie them together and go like gang dusters ! I found out the hard way not to put the harrow gadder behind disk, I spread the clevis on the disk and spent part of the day fixing it ! LOL Keep up the great work and video's. Bandit
We run a similar setup in Saskatchewan for breaking ground but we pull the cultivator first and the discer just cleans it up real nice we pull it with a 1270 Case
@@Masseydriver Ford 5030 and my Grandpa's 1954 Chrysler powered Friday. Both have probably enough engine but not big enough feet to hang on to the ground. In orchard work the only tool hitched to the disc is the 14 foot cultipacker for frost control in the spring. Very awkward to make the turns at the row ends. But it would be fun to disc and drag with one pass in an open field.
Jake Ziegler we were doing ok till Wednesday. This is from Tuesday evening and it worked up about perfect. Wed. and Thurs. nothing but rain, we'll be sidelined for many days now.
I keep thinking disc on the back but be an awkward drag for all I suppose. Looks like it worked ground very well , enjoy the efficiency n thought put forth 👌
Don't know why this was in my recommendations, but certainly not going to complain. I used my old 1960 IH 12ft 37 or 370 disc like this with a drag to smooth my pasture. Works really well up till the wheel decided to have a divorce and take half the hub with it. Thanks to Shoup for the parts, as dealer wanted a fortune. Now, i just need a set of new notched blades as mine are bad on the front gangs. Hard packed clay no plow with 75hp 2020 mahindra 6075. Have to be in 4x4, otherwise wheel slip for days.
Brandongriffith450 if I sink the vibra shank way down it will make my tractor really snort too. I try to set it just deep enough to fill the outside furrows the disc makes. Thanks for watching, if you can make a video of your outfit working ground in the spring.
I've been meaning to ask you if the multi power works. But I can tell by this video that it works like it's supposed to. I'll also say that it sounds like all 110 horses are still there as well. The old gal sounds good.
Does that disk do a good job? I can't really tell with the cultivator behind. We have exact same but a 10'. Ours is gotta be the worst one ever made! In plowed ground like that, with it set in the most aggressive setting like you got yours and all the way down with wheels off the ground, it would be so uneven behind it that the plow actually had left it more level. Ive set it every way possible and got it better after trying different things but it's still a piece of shit. I'm done bitching now lol! Good video!
These discs are pretty light so they only do a so so job in my opinion. I usually play around adjusting it so it doesn’t leave a furrow on the edges and a hump in the middle. I’d like to have a heavier, wider disc someday.
@@Masseydriver yeah I agree. It was cheap and we are just a small beef farm and grow all are own crops and don't have great equipment but it works. We have all Massey's too. Well thanks for getting back to me have a good one.
