Conor, Colin & Paddy vs. the Wicklow Way - August 27th - 28th 2021.
In March 2021, Conor McCabe had the mad idea of running the entire 131km Wicklow Way from Marley Park, Co. Dublin to Clonegal, Co. Carlow. He roped his unsuspecting friend Colin McGough in to accompany him on this feat of endurance. Colin knew putting up with Conor the whole way round was a two-man job so he sought out some international flair but the best he could find was Paddy O'Meara from Athlone!
Join us in our journey to raise money for a very worthwhile charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie which was set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the tragic loss of Jimmy’s daughter Aoibheann to cancer aged just 8 years.
When Aoibheann passed away the men wore pink ties at the funeral which was Aoibheann’s favourite colour. The charity was formed in her memory to remedy the lack of support for other children and their families going through treatment.
Aoibheann’s Pink Tie helps to offer practical support to the families of children diagnosed with cancer and who are attending St John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital. Focused on children attending the only treatment centre for childhood cancer in Ireland, their aim is to support the complete family unit, of parents and siblings, who may not understand what is happening to their Brother or Sister.
Please donate what you can to this very worthy cause and follow us on our journey to take on and conquer the Wicklow Way over the course of 2 days.
