@@blueovalracing1582 Thanks Blue Oval! Yepper, it works pretty good! A friend of mine gave me a Tote full of Tyco Track, but it didn't have any cars. So I brought some Tyco 400 X 2 cars from Protinkertoys. Nice to have a Hobby Shop that has Cars & Stuff that still exists!
@@mintycactus1152 Thanks Minty! Yep, there's a slight difference in the width of the Track between AFX & Tyco. Tyco Track is wider, & they made the cars Wider too. AFX, Race Masters, Autoworld Tracks are Narrow & the Older Cars used to be more Narrow. But that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. And it's Historical too, cause Mattel bought out Tyco, & stopped making Tyco around 2000.
The Best Part of the Layout is, I don't have to Take Down, Right after I build the Track! I'll leave it up till Halloween, & Switch Gears to build my Christmas Layout, which I'm really looking forward to!
Nice! This unit I feel was the best counter ever made by a ho toy race set company.. bugs me why AFX or AW can't make something like this now but all digital or done by a app you use a phone and tablet to use with it.
@@BSslotcars Thanks for watching Steve! Kenton has a video of an AFX Computer Unit but it was probably made in the Tomy Days. Seems like both Mattel & Tomy doesn't want to pass along the plans for the Race Computer Units. So that leaves Digital Companies to Figure Out how to do it. There's about 35 years in between for Ho Slotcar Heads to wait for a Good Lap Counter to come out, when we already had them!
Oh sweet set Dennis! I've never seen that! Today's sets have nothing like this. How ironic since everything nowadays is computerized. Thanks for sharing this beauty Dennis. 🫡
@@nobodyshome758 Thanks Paul! I'll be going into more detail, everything the Race Computer does. It's dating back to 1998 by the way too. I've never seen it before until I got in a Tote of Track too!
