'Running Up That Hill' - Julia Henning: Live at the Sydney Opera House 

I have been following Kate for decades and I was thinking Kate's songs were hard to cover. Well, they are hard still, but you do a great, great job. The arrangment is haunting, voice full of heart and soul. Love it.

There's a spectrum of songs from awful to great and then a handfull that transcend classification and this is one. It's wonderful to hear artists who want to sing it and especially such a marvellous arrangement and performance that Julia gives here with the orchestra.

I like this version the best, The power of that phrase "if I only could", conveys such heartfelt loss and beauty

I posted it on a Kate Bush fan site wall because I really think it's a cover that both captures the original and brings something new to it. It's rare that covers manage that. Kate's delivery at the time was more of a youthful, passionate lover. Here there is a much more mature delivery. I can really appreciate and relate more. I sense it is sang from a grown woman that has been holding on to her relationship for a long period of time. But she does not receive the efforts from her counterpart (maybe because he is not ready to be the King she deserves) for whichever reason. You ask through love, you confront, you forgive at the same time. But stay firm in your demand. You are very fascinating and you inspire respect and admiration as you're moving hearts with your powerful yet delicate voice. You are a Goddess. (At least you embodie it here on this stage, when you tell about "making a deal with God" it feels you are already his equal).

Just when I thought I’d never hear a better version I came upon this one. The singer is unbelievably talented. The orchestra did a fantastic job as well.

I like the unique twist she’s put on it. Love her voice and the understated, thoughtful delivery. The msg feels different in this cover.

I understand the original meaning of the lyrics as described by Kate however...............sometimes in life, death, and deep contemplation alternative meanings are brought forth by our experiences and pain. I was at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and fought hard to save others, and eventually myself. But I have never forgiven myself for surviving. The images of the remarkably brave souls "running up that building" will not leave me. I have considered making a deal with God to bring me back to the event and let me die in grace. This song has forever allowed me to grieve in this way.

I recently heard a lady at Karaoke night scream "This is that song from Stranger Things!" And well... She sort of tumbled down that hill.

I have only just came across this video, such a amazing version of a classic song. Must have watched his video at least 100+ times in the last few days. Does any one know where I can buy a copy can’t seem to find it in iTunes or Amazon. Never mind found the bandcamp page and ordered the ep.

It seems as if she her presentation was delivered at 100 per cent. From the original, a hard act to follow. I enjoyed it, well done.
