And I just love the way Malcom always plays with his eyes closed, and on the odd occasions he opens them he looks surprised to find out he is holding a guitar! He does it to this day, bless him! Says something about his connection to his instrument I think. He is one with it. Most underrated band I know of, every single one is a superlative musician. And the McDonalds are poets. And, I know this is pre Guthro, but I love Bruce too. His solo stuff is wonderful, and of course we now have Blair, Malcom`s stuff, Brian`s stuff and Donnie and Son, and Bruce and Son and lords know who else will appear! Bring it all on! My ears cant wait!
Fabulous memories - I was there - my hometown and my second Runrig concert - Donnie's voice was fantastic and Malcolm ROCKED with that Gibson 335 Starburst! WHAT A GRITTY SOUND!
'Se oràn glé mhath a tha seo! When I was a wee boy (back when I was a card carrying fan club member), I had this gig on VHS that I would watch whenever I visited my (slightly posh) uncle and aunt because we wouldn't have a video player for another few years. This brings back many good memories. Suas leis a ghaidhlig!
Utterly amazing, thank you so much. And the lyrics are so powerful.. With the South of Britain going ever more to a scary right, keep the flame kids! Lol I suggest we build a new Hadrians Wall around the M 25, leave them to their greedy nasty devices and start again with the rest of us! Scots in charge! ;))
Kerpatricia, my wee friend from France, has been forwarding videos of Runrig from your fabulous collection. My daughter and I have loved Runrig since she discovered them on a Celtic radio station on the internet. Love this amazing band...pre Bruce and post Donnie, they're brilliant. Adore the MacDonald brothers (to me, the heart and soul of Runrig)... Your posts are the BEST on RU-vid and this note of appreciation is long overdue. Props! Alba gu brath--Runrig Rocks! Slainte!
I was also at this concert. Pretty sure my friend and I were standing somewhere near the two girls at front right as we normally stood near Malcolm as we occasionally jammed with him at the West End Hotel in Edinburgh.
