@@rachellemarie9291 I wish I could foster like that but my work schedule is a bit up in the air and it wouldn’t be fair but I totally know what you mean
I have many around my yard. They come and eat cat food out of my hand. Sometimes they're in the same bowl with the neighbourhood raccoons. It's the weirdest thing seeing a skunk a raccoon side by side eating out of the same bowl without being aggressive towards each other.
I once raised 8 baby skunks in a one-bedroom apartment. They were adorbs, and yes, they are messy eaters. I remember one time stopping at a roadside fruit stand and getting them some blackberries - they became black and purple, instead of black and white. Anyway, they went through a release program and went into the wild - the best outcome. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for skunkies.
@@NunyaNomi not true. I met one in the dark walking up the stairs from my back yard. We froze a second and I quickly backed up into my kitchen and closed the door. The skink saw I was no threat and didn’t spray. And these were not spraying.
Then I think about the woman caught on camera running up and down her porch because of the skunk chasing after her but her boots were too big and heavy to move fast.
They are absolutely adorable. Angel Wing is such a cutie pie with the all black fur and white head. How special is she 🦨❤️ I would have struggled to let them go. Thank you for caring for them, but what blessing 😊
I had two of them as pets as a kid during the mid 80s through the late 90s. They make awesome pets, very friendly and lovable. They also play very rough expect to get scratches on your hands while playing but they mean no harm. Oh and they love to sleep up against you under the blankets.😂😂
fr they’re like pit bulls... skunks are known to be one of the most docile animals cuz they never really approach humans ya know... they only spray cuz they’re scared
Thank you so much for sharing our rescued skunks story here at the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center! You did a wonderful job and showing them from rescue all the way to release!
Wow! I never knew that anyone actually take care of skunks in their homes. It takes a special caring kind. Thanks for taking care of these cute black and white skunks.
Love their stomping! So adorable!!! Looks like they feel so ferocious when they do it! heehee God bless their rescuers and hope that the skunks have a great life back in the wild!
Good Grief! I had no idea just how cute baby Skunks are! That adorable little face looking into the camera was wonderful. What a marvellous thing to rescue these hugely vulnerable babies and nurture and prepare them to live together free in nature!
I always think that about these kind of stories 😢 I wish they would leave out that part of the story. I know that’s why baby animals appear, but I don’t like hearing about it. 😢
My elderly aunt and I were once discussing how we wished we could rescue and protect everyone/everything. We spoke about the people who appear to have a superhuman ability to help so many. She said something I remember, when I watch this video and others, "They're special souls."
I live in a semi-rural area and for the last several years have had a family of skunks living under my deck. It's so fun to watch the babies every year. I keep dry cat food and water in several locations, as we have lots of feral/abandoned cats around here, and it's a hoot to watch the little skunks growl and push each other when munching on the cat food. They are very shy, and while the babies will occasionally challenge me, the adults just scurry away and hide. They are very easy-going animals, and not aggressive unless cornered. Plus they keep the destructive raccoons out of my yard, which is great.
Those little jits were lucky to meet such kind and caring people. And its great that no matter what the ultimate goal was to release them back to the wild. And for them being skunks, you deserve a medal for your bravery. I dont think you can get close to FL skunks
So cute. I have a friend who has two pet skunks and she takes them arround steampunk markets all the time and they are so gentle and always want a hug or to be pet. And you can't carry them on no they both have to ride on her neck and shoulders like a fur scarf they are only happy there. Never sprayed and just want lots of love. Hehe At the market one year a trader was selling fairy wings you could put on your back. Waldo the skunk went to visit her and came back out with a pair of green glittery fairy wings on his back. Such sweet little guys and very loving.
For sure, it takes very special and dedicated people to rescue baby skunks. You all were amazing, I loved seeing the results of your patience, love and hard work. Psst...were you ever sprayed on by any of the little skunks? Of course it would be a love spray!. 😊❤️
I found a litter of five baby skunks myself some years ago! They were absolutely freaking adorable! Gave them to Project Wildlife here in San Diego where our local "skunk lady" was able to raise them.
How stinkin' cute is this? (Sorry, couldn't help myself 😉) They are so adorable, they are very beautiful animals as adults too, we just have to appreciate them from a distance!
I used to work at Petsmart and my favorite shift was the day this guy brought in a baby skunk and let me pet it. They're in the same family as Ferrets so I assume he was looking for ferret stuff to take care of the little guy but it was the cutest fluffiest thing. Skunks are amazing and are very misunderstood
I love skunks! We have one who took up residence under our back deck last summer. I call him Henry. He eats the pesky bugs and we let him keep his little home. We're all happy cohabitators.
I had an orphaned baby skunk when I was young. She was so easily tamed and very affectionate. I let her go when she was grown and ready to seek her mate.
These are very lovable, have never seen one before .. we as humans need to learn how to live with and accept that we are sharing this planet with all manner of life forms. 🕸🕷🕸
