New music for Crop Over 2011 from Rupee! Since its release this song has been sweeping the country with a sense of National Pride and positivity. Due to the demand, this video was made to provide the lyrics.
Was born in QE hospital St Michael to a South African mother who died giving birth to me. My dad is half Canadian and took us to England when I was 5. That was 1990. I came back in 2017 and haven't wanted to leave since!!!!!
Would just like to shout out everybody on here continuing to show my music and this song in particular, so much love! I wasn't able to be a part of Crop Over this year, but your support is allows me to still be a part of it even though I'm not there. I'm out here on the road representing you all! much love Rupee
white Canadian, married to black Bajan for 35 years, gone one year ago, made me bajan true, true, true...cry whenever I hear this song, sooo sweet, thanks Rupee
I'm of Afro-Guyanese and Bajan heritage learned today that my father is half Bajan and my paternal grandfather and his side of the family were born and raised Bajans. Proud to be a part of this culture. Always listened to Ruppe but completely forgot he was Bajan.
***** but isn't rihanna mother guyanese plus her whole mother side is guyanese so it doesn't matter if she was born in Barbados because she is still half guyanese and bajan
I am Trinidadian and I love this song... Its about time other countries show some island pride ,like Trinidad and Tobago does every year... Trini to the Bone.... Big up Barbados ... one love !!
@@mrcaleb7728 there's a few songs that we have here in canada that would do the same for me. I would love to see barbados someday. It looks like paradise.
I celebrated my 30th in Barbados staying at a villa on Sandy Lane August of 2012 and in that moment I became a cousin to that island.. I heard this song so many times during the parades, juvie', etc... It's encompasses my ENITRE time on the island.. I absolutely LOVED my Bajan experience!!!!!! Will be going back again...
My daughter was loving this song before she was 1 year old and could even babble a word, now, she is not 2 as yet, but everytime she sees a Bajan flag, she sings"I am a baban" ! So we all love this song! Excellent job Rupee and Happy 46th Independence Barbados! We have come a long way as a people and we still have a journey ahead of us to go! So let's do it together!
@RUPEETV: I greatly appreciate this song. It embodies perfectly everything about Barbadians and the beautiful island we are honored to call home. Thank you for showcasing such a beautiful talent from this Bajan brother. I am a Bajannn!! Forever I Love Bimshire!

Feeling the true spirit and warmth of beautiful Bims inside my soul as i hear this tune. Although i am not Bajan, infact i am a British born Asian- Barbados feels like my home away from home. So welcoming, full of beauty and definately the gem of the Caribbean. Best food, best soca music, best island ever! Only visted 3 occasions so far on one month long stays, but one day i will make it my home too!! Big respect :-)

I’m an Armenian-Iranian, well I’m fully, 100% Armenian, but was born in Iran, during COVID I turned into somewhat of a geography nerd and fell in love with Barbados, the culture, the people, the country as a whole, and many more, I wish to one day live there and be a part of your guys’ community, and honestly I feel like knowing this sing is probably a pretty important step in the progress 😂💙💛

@babywalapoppa I made this song because I felt that amidst all the negative vibes out there, we needed to put Barbados back into the positive light that has shone upon it for so long...so we can see the true reflections of this gem!
