Absolutely stunning record! The band looked very cool too! They were also called 'Les Fleur de Lys' and backed Sharon Tandy on "Hold On", a Mod Freakbeat killer classic, 1967.
I have a crush on the bird. She's adorable. I've heard this song somewhere before, in the US. Growing up they played a great variety of songs on the radio compared to today.
Dream in my mind and you’ll find no damn time And there’s happiness where once was sorrow Dream very strong though it’s wrong to stay long And find happiness where once was sorrow Dream in my mind, dream in my mind Stay in my day and you’ll say it’s ok And there's happiness were there once was sorrow Dream very strong though it’s wrong to stay long And find yesterday in your tomorrow Dream in my mind, dream in my mind [Solo] Dream in my mind, dream in my mind Stay in my day and you’ll say it’s ok And there's happiness where once was sorrow Dream very strong though it’s wrong to stay long And find yesterday in your tomorrow Dream in my mind, dream in my mind
I remember the first time i heard this song, i was travelin' thru' the streets of my city in bicycle, high as a kite and listening to a mp3 copy of some compilation a friend of mine gave to me. 23 years old, happening 14 years ago =)
They really hyped up the Britishness on this one. Union Jack made out of carnaby street signs, tea served on a Union Jack tea tray in Union Jack mugs, walking reverently around the Rolls-Royce. Perhaps the height of Cool Britannia Mark 1.
Uno de mis grupos favoritos del mod-psych britanicos.Una curiosidad el organista entonces del grupo P.Solley, toco unos meses con spanish band Los Bravos
This was the 'B' side to the whimsical "A Prologue To A Magic World" so may not have got the airplay. This is the stronger track, and should have been the 'A' side.
You have heard of The Monkees? A group put together with actual players of the music on the LP different from those on screen. Rupert's People was similar. The group was great, great hit, but the band broke up before - I understand - the hit was released and the producer was left with a contract to supply hits thereafter. He brought in some new talent and recorded new songs under the banner Rupert's People. I, too, think this was a great hit when it was released. The A side was not bad. This group with the theme for its songs and image had great potential. I like their version of Small Faces, My Mind's Eye, as well.
No they were two different bands but a couple of members from Fleur de Lys guitarist Rod Lynton and vocalist Chris Andrews joined Rupert's People at one point.
Also if ya dig this song on youtube 😀 you may enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀
Nice post. Got me thinking about jesus. Been on my mind awhile. 47 years of sin tho. Ex cop.. seen a bit but think he might be there after all. Thankyou from UK.
