I married my 2nd husband. He had diabetes n got very sick stopped working n I had to get a job n take care of our four kids. Hubby lost his eye sight and we waited for his ssdi. We had no money for two years living on welfare here in the USA! I worked full time n still had help from the state. I did laundry by hand for a year. The hardest ever we struggled.

@RupakJyoti...It was interesting for me to see how corn is eaten over there. We also boil and roast our corn on the cob, but our eating corn (USA) is a variety known as sweet corn. It is soft and sweet. We boil it for about 12 minutes, let it cool a little, brush or spray margarine or butter all over it, and usually sprinkle salt all around it.Then, we hold both ends and eat all the corn from off the cob with our mouths. The harder corn we know as field corn and that is where cornmeal, corn flour, corn starch, and animal feed comes from.

Abundance of water in the hills is quite misleading. Actually in dry season between Oct to May it is extremely difficult to procure drinking, cooking, washing, cleaning water in the hills except those few who fortunately live beside a stream. Even streams dry up during summer & it is next to impossible to sink a tubewel or dig a hole in the solid rock.
Qui, in Sikkim, a differenza che in Assam, anche l'uomo lavora e sta in cucina e inoltre mangia alla pari con la donna. Ma spero che non mangino ...solo mais!
