I think I can beat it. A fisher cat screaming from the pitch black woods at the end of your road in the middle of the night while your smoking a joint on your back porch.
Well, now I know that no one is actually skinning an animal alive right outside my window every night (which was my original thought). Thanks for reassuring me!
@@black4pienus then again most of the banshee lore was from Ireland so it makes a lot more sense seeing it being a fox since rural Ireland when that whole mythos started was like in the middle of a buttfucking field, Foxes galore
That’s exactly what I thought 5 minutes ago! I came on here and found this. I thought something was getting dragged through the woods because the sound was fading
The Lunatic yeah i just heard that had to google this shit cause i was suspecting a fox. After like 3 minutes of thinking somebody is getting murdered right infront of my window. I live in uk next to a little park we have foxes 😕
This was me last night. We live on a farm and I thought someone was being fucking murdered near the house. I took a flashlight and went to look as I thought it could be an animal in distress, then the dog comes bolting out of a paddock and I just see eyes coming towards me, fast. The shrieking kept going though, so she wasn’t the cause.
@@buffloon He knows because it is very easy to imagine what that would sound like. Heck, a lot of movies have female actors screaming their lungs out in horrific situations, and those women are often great actors as well.
When I lived in London I was woken up by this noise around 3am and genuinely thought a child was being murdered outside my house, so freaked out by it I could barely move!! Pesky buggers haha
This reminds me of a noise I heard outside my window, sometimes in the night when I was a kid. It was this weird combination of a baby crying, a whistling kettle and a woman screaming in general. I always thought it probably was a baby owl (some can make weird noises!), but now I think it was probably a fox, this is very similar.
Heard this in the field parallel my house. Scared the crap out of me and my dog. Scared me enough I grabbed my rifle because I thought someone was being attacked...
I heard exactly this kind of shrieking day ago. I was like WTF, is there an owl murdering a crow or what. Then I realised that there was more scurrying on the ground so some foxes were probably communicating or mating.
Oh, there's one mega reepy animal - people wouldn't assume about - bambi-like small roe deers. Their shriek is blood curdling too. It kind of wants to bark like a dog but it sounds so wrong. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9EWzg4eiJnM.html&app=desktop
Woke up at 3am to this exact sound last night. I watched Harry Potter before bed, I swore Voldemort and the death eaters were outside my bedroom window
i literally heard this whilst i was stood outside looking at the stars and i had a strong feeling it would have been a fox! never in my 25 years have i heard a fox. this was truly amazing to hear! thank you for the video!
Fell asleep on my sofa last night and was woken up at 3am by this exact scream. It was horrifying and it wouldn’t stop for like 20 mins. It was honestly terrifying waking up to it
Well this was both reassuring and terrifying. I was outside during a meteor shower very late at night by the woods and heard this. My soul left my body when it did it again, closer. There’s a security cam video of me running so fast back inside, I’m a blur. Hearing this brought that right back up, but also let me know it wasn’t a skinwalker
@@ninanickel3103 I don't find it too scary, but adorable? It's harsh, grating and sounds like something screaming in agony. What is your definition of adorable?
Three nights ago I heard this around 2am in Birmingham UK. Some of my neighbours came out to investigate and I was standing on a ladder with a torch. It was awful. I'm so glad to know it was foxes and not dying animals
I think this is what I heard outside my bedroom window around 1:30 this morning! Holy cow, talk about terrifying! Thought it was a bird, looked up every kind of screetching sound the birds in my area make but found nothing comparable. Found this Fox video, and I think this is exactly what I heard! Sooo scary! Went on for about 7 minutes, I just wanted it to stop so I could go back to sleep. Hope they've moved on...far away from my house lol! Thanks for posting!👍
My neighbor heard a fox and she said she thought she heard a screaming lady yelling for help but it was just a baby fox making lots of noise. We have foxes in our neighborhood its crazy!I saw one myself.
When i was younger, there will always be similar sounds outside my house like this, i literally thought that it was some type of gigantic animal wandering outside my house, or even an abandoned baby crying outside, but now i know it''s just a fox.
Damn near pissed my pants when me and my brother where walking home at 4 am after we snuck out and I heard this. It sounded like a lady getting murdered.
I just let the dog out for a wee and heard this noise...I thought a animal was being eaten alive I was so upset..I know now its the vixen screaming thank god and thank you for reassuring me xx
This is the exact noise from my early childhood in rural Dorset - the most benign and bucolic place on Earth - that led me to my adult tastes in heavy metal, creepy electronica and arty horror films 😅 thanks, foxies 🤘🎧
Haha I love metal and I think the screech owl (they don't screech, idk why they're called screech owls) in my neighborhood does too. I was just listening to metal while cleaning the lawn mower when it was getting dark the other night, and one started whinnying along with Lamb Of God 😂🤘
I already get a heart attack when i hear cats fight for territory outside my window but those fox screams that sound like a women screaming takes it to a whole new level
WHY would folks thumbs down this video! it's fantastic! I've heard these screams and others tried to tell me it's fisher cats! PRETTY SURE it was a fox...
I just heard this noise outside. Thought it was a dog so I opened the window to listing better starting screeching again that's no dog sounded like a little child fooling around screaming in the woods then I heard it running it took off. So I came here to find out haha thank you for putting this video out.
I heard this for the first time 2 years ago. I seriously thought a child was being murdered or beaten. Had NO idea at the time an animal made that sound. It scared me to death. It was pitch black outside. 🤦🏼♀️ I was so glad to find out it was a fox, but that sound is crazy!!
I literally cannot thank you enough for giving me proof that the blood-curdling-out-of-this-world Screaming was just a fox. I am writing this at 3:00 AM and heard that shite from the dark Street in front of my house. If anyone (not you OP) think that this is funny lets see how you react to hearing that coming from pure darkness in the middle of the night.
Ha ha! Thank you for posting this!! My regular fox (I feed each night) is very quiet but recently if I don't put the food out at the usual time, I have been hearing chitty noises followed by screams. Two years ago, my regular fox appeared with a young fun which was encouraged by the adult to eat first (raw ground beef). Hoping very strongly that my regular is a female
That's camping in the woods officially off the list of things to do! My parents heard it years ago and genuinely expected to find a dead woman the next morning
My first instinct when I see a fox is to wanna pet it. I'm not a soft man but I have a soft spot for animals, having owned a good number of dogs now, it's crazy how every 4 legged animal I come across reminds me of my dogs just by their personalities
My first last night, 2 am. Thought it was a young trapped Raccoon sounding frantic. Non stop for 30 seconds at a time. I wish I would have recorded it. It is very loud.
We have foxes living in the fields behind our house. On occasion we hear them screaming like this. Scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it!
I've heard a fox making the mating sound at night outside my window once and its genuinely has traumatised me ever since, I thought it was woman screaming.
It truly is. It's horrific. I woke up at 3:30 - 4:00am to hear this, having heard it a few nights before further away. But this sounded like it was right outside my window. Couldn't get back to sleep.
Geez, finally pinpointed it in my head. I live in the heart of the city though.. How is it possible to suddenly hear foxes screaming like this every single night? I'm literally hearing them every single night.
My mum's boyfriend brought my 4yr old niece round the house, on Halloween of all nights, to show her the decorations. We were in the kitchen getting the party set up when he came busting through the door, wide eyed and panting, shouting about a banshee. We asked where the child was and a few seconds later my niece came in crying "YOU LEFT ME BEHIND TO GET EATEN" 😂😂 We had to explain that it was a fox they'd heard and I played a video I'd taken of the noise to prove to them cause they didn't believe me hahahaha they make some racket 😂
When I was a kid I woke my mom up one night because I thought a neighbor was getting murdered or something but when she came outside to hear she said it was just a fox haha
Was watching Ted Lasso last night with the windows open. Started hearing this but it was so much louder... my blood ran cold. I honestly cannot remember being so terrified. Fast forward to today, found a mama fox and her 3 kits in my next door neighbor's shed. It was such a relief to figure out what the sound was, because it sounds like the screams of the damned. Really not pleasant to hear at night haha
I moved to TN from Chicago when I was 12 , my first job at 17 was on a farm and I worked until 10 o'clock at night sometimes . Their horse stable was literally right against the tree line to like 45 miles of just mountain forest and wildlife. I had my back to the forest and it was pitch black and I heard a fox screaming like 4 times louder than this video shows and it was echoing off the mountains . I did not know foxes scream and it sound just like a woman. Never been so afraid in my life that I heard like a murder in the woods for like 15 min straight . I left my shift and went home . Didn't even finish just got in my car and dipped xD my boss the next day laughed his ass off and showed me a video of foxes screaming .
