A very enjoyable evening spent at Cheddington on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and freight from DB Cargo UK, Freightliner and GBRF.
The station was opened in 1838 by the London and Birmingham Railway and was formally a junction station for a branch line that went to Aylesbury High Street which was used by a mixture of freight and passenger traffic. The freight traffic would typically consist of cattle wagons taking the animals to Leighton Buzzard where they would be sold at the farmers market in the cnetre of the town. The line remain opened until 1964 until it was finally closed.
The only real significant thing that happened at Cheddington was the Great Train Robbery of 1963 which occured 1.2 miles down the line at Ledburn Junction.

Last year the station saw 84132 passengers using the station.
My next rush hour film will be from Ashton on the West Coast Mainline.
