@@taintmueslix Funny, I remember it fading in on my 8 track driving to school. Maybe it was those loud mufflers. This is more like adding instruments in sequence and building the sound. But it still sounds like the bass volume is ramped up gradually until the vocals kick in.
@@taintmueslixIt does fade in slightly on the original, I’ve been playing along to it on my acoustic for 30 years. I love how seamlessly Alex fades in and overpowers the acoustic.
When this LP was released in 1976, I said 2112 is 136 years away. I was 22. Now its (just) 89 years away - a realistic lifetime for someone born today in 2023. I won't see it, though.
When this album premiere, it was And still is Awesome. I recorded it onto cassette. The sound using a CR02 type cassette has spectacular sounding effects i can't hear on the Album or even in digital formats. I have had several ancient cassette recorder with a cr02 tape option and a Memerox CR02 blank tape, And noticed difference, 👍
Sweet memories Flashing very quickly by Reminding me Giving me a reason why I know that My goal is more than a thought I’ll be there When I teach what I’ve been taught You know we’ve told you before But you didn’t hear us then So you still question why You didn’t listen again Sweet memories I never thought it would be like this Reminding me Just how close I came to missing I know that This is the way for me to go You’ll be there When you know what I know
Does anyone know a live version of this number, recorded say mid to late 70s? I'm sure Alex shreds even crazier than on the album. That sick fade out at the end tells me he's just getting started!
