I’ve met him when I was cutting his lawn - did even know it was Geddy House till he greeted me. In order for his privacy I’m not mentioning a word. He’s very humble , mind you generous also.
I know I'm 3 years late to the party, but tell more. How did You get hooked up with that job at first? Was there a grass cutting ad running, or something?
I always thought Geddy Lee moved his own grass and was into gardening.... actually, since it's Geddy Lee... Geddy Lee doesn't mow his grass... his grass gets Geddy Lee'd
His interviews regarding random fan stops imo are Legendary. Every celebrity could learn somn from his overall attitude. He's one of the few who are as thankful for Us as we are for Him. It's heartwarming.....I think I'll go watch it Now...lol...🤟
I was there too! I drove up from Havre de Grace, MD (about 25 miles North of Baltimore), and it was totally worth it. I got to thank Geddy for Rush being the reason I started playing guitar 20 years ago, and he got a big smile on his face, and said something along the lines of “That’s always great to hear.” He gave me a fist bump, I said “Really nice meeting you”, he said “Likewise.”, and I went on my way. It was short and sweet - but I won’t ever forget it :)
Thanks for telling us. Loved hearing what words you two exchanged. He gave everyone their due time. I don't blame him for not posing for a picture 650 times! Did you get a photo of you talking with him? ` Cyndy Drue
I was there also. This was my 2nd time meeting him. I was lucky enough to see them 15 times. I got his signature tattooed on my thigh right below my rush tattoo.
He is so awesome I met him in Boston he was very pleasant and respectful I did not know what to say I became a bumbling idiot even though I had practice in my head what I would say for hours as I stood there then at the moment he is right there I could touch him my idol I was in awe like a little kid and just said I have been listening to you since junior high he responded , thank you very much and I recieve the signed book and a fist bump I can die and be happy now thanks geddy!!!!!!!!
@@ClassicRockArchive so if he were to play professional sports, the back of his jersey would... would it say "EDGE"??? If he were to go out meeting women and he introduces himself... does he say, "My name is The... and what would yours be???" And would this hypothetical woman respond with, "Hi The... nice to meet you The..." and then tells her name 😄
That's great that Geddy was doing this, especially considering the time period when only he knew what was soon to come regarding Neil... but I just could not do something like this. It would be utter torture to see him there... and he's right THERE... only to have a very impersonal quick pause in front of him, then moving along. I would have to meet Geddy by chance on my own... like inside an elevator that ends up stuck for the next 6 hours would be the ultimate ... by chance under the right conditions would be the only way for me. We would have too much to hear about and tell about
@@ClassicRockArchive I actually had one of those meant to be right place, right time encounters with Kevin Parker and the rest of Tame Impala in 2015.... spent over an hour getting insight and talking about places around the world we've been... and them opening for AC/DC at Coachella the previous month. So that sort of thing is always possible
😂 😁😁😁 Not only was I there I see I made it in your video. “Still”-shot at 14s. I wish I had remembered to take off my back-pack. Glad to be a part of your video (posted my own video on here too). It was great getting up close to a globally renown figure like Geddy.
I see you there Elliot, and looked at the one you posted, too. I couldn't hear what you said to Geddy but it looked like he was busy signing and didn't respond to what you said. Were you the first in line? (I'm Cyndy who "hosted" this piece)
@@ClassicRockArchive ICYI RUSH opened for KISS in the 70s. I asked Geddy if he and Gene Simmons ever talked about how both their parents were Holocaust survivors (which I felt was a remarkable coincidence). He did answer “yes” but did not elaborate (which was okay to me). He did ask me how I wanted my book signed which I truly appreciated. I was in awe of him- especially w/ the realization I was standing next to the man who composed the music & possessed the fingers that played the bass on songs known for decades by millions of people around the world.
Geddy Lee is coming to Phoenix for a book signing on 11/3. Can't wait. I've been a big RUSH fan since I first heard Hemispheres on WIOQ in Philly back in the day. My first live RUSH experience was on the Moving Pictures Tour at The Spectrum in Philly on 9/25/1980! Super Psyched!
That was my second rush show..first at the spectrum...9.25.80...that was the permanent waves tour ...not.moving pictures tour I wanted to clarify that mistake that was also the date that John Bonham passed ....they announced it at our high school as we were let out for the day ...
