Congratulations! My daughter rushed at Alabama and like you didn't get her "first pick" sorority. She used the first semester to meet people and get comfortable on campus. She was brought into her new sorority in the second semester. What did she learn? 1) Don't have a predetermined favorite. 2) Be yourself. 3) Even if you're shy or less talkative, make the effort to engage with the current sorority members during the open houses. Everybody has something in common with your experience (the heat, the pressure, meeting so many new people in such a short time and trying to remember their names). Remember that the current members went through the same thing. 4) Be positive. If something didn't go the way you hoped, don't let it impact your attitude/behavior at the next house(s). 5) It will work out if you let it work out. RTR!

I’m so glad you liked the video and that I could help! I know people can make rushing as a sophomore seem uncommon or unusual. But, there are plenty of sophomores that go through recruitment! I am SO happy I did and would definitely recommend it! 💕

I’m transferring to uncw after getting two associates and I wanna rush but I’ll be a junior I think and I’m 26 & a mom and married?

Hi, thanks so much for your comment! You can definitely still go through sorority recruitment as there are no age restrictions when joining a sorority. At most universities, the only requirement is that you are a full time student. So, as long as you are a full time student you are good to go! You can always reach out to your university’s Panhellenic Council if you have specific questions about your school’s recruitment process :)
