If my opinion is welcomed, I think he's known as one of the most versatile artists of this era. He kills it as a rapper, kills it as a singer, kills it as a producer. The streets respect him. Even the dudes he collaborates with respect him. And their fans too. The problem is the media and award ceremonies are the ones that snub him. But we know. Dude's 🔥

Love your reactions guys. One thing you may have missed when you were talking about the old school vibe of this freestyle: this is clearly inspired by those old Damian Marley joints like Welcome to Jamtown and Pimpa’s Paradise. From the beat and sample sounding really similar to the Jamaica references to the conscious lyrics, its all straight from the mid 2000’s dance hall/rap sound.

I think since these guys grew up in a different hip hop area Russ style of music is very foreign to there ear. But y’all will see 15 years from now Russ will be one of the greatest to ever do it.
