My eyes and ears opened when I first heard Russell speak. I had not looked at the world. Nor had I given myself true understanding of what was happening. 4 ten years I raised my children in Germany, horrified about the Holocaust and studying it. I first began painting my relations from different tribes and taught myself to paint. I obsessed with the genocide in my own country. I wanted to do something, to change something. Russell did that. I hope one day to be able to say that I have.

I met Mr Means several times during a personal spiritual rebirth, in fact, he even took a sweatlodge ceremony that was part of my rebirth, that deeply connected me to my native indian roots of 3 or 4 lives, including the Lakota Sioux during the time of Custer and Little Big Horn. Thus, it was a great privilege to meet him, although I did not know then who he was, and that he starred in the Last of the Mohicans, one of my all-time favourite stories that reminds me too of my Indian lives and their ways and struggles. And what a struggle it was, on all levels! Now I am reincarnated among the white men of England, but have always felt alien to these people, due to their paucity of spiritual values. Thus, I am an, even the enemy to them, hated wherever I go! Hence why I enjoy hearing Mr Means again, and to dream a little of my lives on the prairies and around the lakes. And thus what I really long for are a spiritual home and values, where nature is unspoilt and abundant, and peace abounds. Sadly, the mental disease of men, abundantly promoted by 'the ways of the white man', has decimated and denigrated this, our earthly home, until it has become a sty, rather than a reflection of Paradise, which is must become by aligning with the Laws of the Great Spirit. Then, men will be able to form the consensus of how to live aright, spoken of by Mr Means, for they will become enlightened to the ways of the spirit, which creates a completely different way of living than the one we see unfolding now, which WILL LEAD TO IMMINENT DISASTERS AND possibly THE fALL OF MEN. Our very existence is imperilled by this mental disease, and we must now very quickly return to the spiritual ways of our forefathers, by respecting all creatures, and intuiting a sense of beauty, balance and guidance from higher spheres, that are longing to help men, if they would but listen, and make an effort! So make haste brothers, for there is little time to reclaim our lands!

Who now will step up and take Russell's place in the fight for our people? The US Government will continue to walk over the rights of the people which it governs without impunity without voices like Russell's to confront them about the actions it is taking. Even his name, MEANS takes us to a point where we understand that as a people our lives MEANS something. We MATTER. Who will pick up the fight and carry it on? Who will be as eloquent and informed as Russell? Who will have the COURAGE?

I am undone. I was building a home in TN in 2012 Russell and at that tyme of my life the Lakota people's were the farthest thing from my mind. Now 6 yrs later I finally realized after 33 years of a so called "christian" life that christian had nothing to do with my (what I thought happened in 1985) "salvation" experience when I thought the white mans' Jesus saved me. But I would like to hear the questions in one of the languages I understand. I presume this was done for BBC Persian-language service, where it was assumed all listeners would know Farsi. I want people to notice what Mr. Means states about himself. He says he is an American Indian. Notice that he doesn't say that he is a Native American. I have a friend who is an American Indian and he schooled me when I addressed him as a Native American. He said, "When you say Native American that means that you are native to America. The problem is, his ancestors were here before it became America (United States). Now that it is America, he prefers to be called an American Indian." To be fair, it is politically correct to use the term Native American but I don't use that term personally anymore.
