Kate Lewis like, I know. I don’t know where it comes from, it, like, just come into my head and, like...I feel the need to, like, share. ‘Cos my gap year in South America helping native tribes really gave me a me, like, perspective on myself and , like, what we ‘sense’. They made me drink this really foul drink everyday and I went into, like, a dream state where I had an awareness of us all being one with each other and everything in the universe and a connectivity. I’ve never felt so connected to others yet knowledge of myself and my limitations which are merely phycological boundaries set by ourselves as a collective to keep safe but hold us back. The real game changers in history that made giant leaps for all mankind did so at enormous personal risk with a huge mortality rate (or short life expectancy if you prefer). So, yeah, I, like, really helped the tribe even though I was either ‘tripping’ (🤷🏽‍♂️) on this drink, bing sick off of it or, like, recovering from it. But I introduced them to the Kardashian’s so I think they’re lives are, like, better for that...

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." --Thomas A. Edison. This quote has been great encouragement for me to keep going with my study and meditation music RU-vid channel.
@user-ck9lm6xi1o
@user-ck9lm6xi1o 4 года назад
Blue&Green The quote is still good, though. Maybe after you're done shitting on Edison you can go on to find the value in a quotation that's attributed to him? You can do both, you know.
@user-ck9lm6xi1o
@user-ck9lm6xi1o 4 года назад
M Z So you're comparing Hitler's actions to Edison's? Seems valid...
@user-ck9lm6xi1o
@user-ck9lm6xi1o 4 года назад
M Z "You can do both, you know." When I said this, I was talking specifically about Edison and the quotation OP was referring to. Nothing I said there implies that I'm committed to the claim that you can find value in a quote made by anybody ever. It sounded like that's part of what you were implying. It actually still sounds like that's what you are implying. And it seems like you were using a quote from Hitler to make it seem like my stance was ridiculous. Cheap ploy on both counts, if that's what you were doing, but I'll answer you honestly. I do think you could probably find value from a quotation made by an insanely horrible person, such as Hitler. The quote you picked doesn't seem like that kind of quote though -- it seems extremely narcissistic, megalomaniacal, and judgmental -- but other quotes could potentially work. If Hitler had been quoted as saying, "Wear a hat not because other people like it but because you like it", that quote would have value despite being said by Hitler. For a quote to have value requires that the content is valuable, not that the person who said it is morally upstanding or not. We would like things to be black and white and for villains to never say anything wise or do anything good or be normal in any way. But real evil isn't the kind you see in Disney movies. So yes, in principle you could find real value in a quote straight from the mouth of a fucking evil person. You can also find no value in a quote straight from the mouth of a fucking saint of a human being. But this is all a bit irrelevant, because as far as I know plagiarizing doesn't make you as evil as Hitler was. I could sympathize with someone who thought they could never find value in words said by Hitler. I couldn't sympathize with someone who thought that a person who plagiarized or stole could never possibly say anything of value. That's just fucking ridiculous.

M Z Wow. I love pedantic debates -- really, they're fun -- but you're just insufferable. If your goals were as you say, then you failed. If you wanted to troll me, you mildly succeeded. But you're so insufferable that I'm just going to move on with my day instead of waste it on you. Have fun being you. Or maybe do some self-reflections yourself. Doesn't matter to me, tbh. Your life.
