@@liyemamthini2043 I think it's because Craig never approached his interviews with an agenda (and ofc he would show this by ripping up his cards as the guest sat down) - he was just interested in having a meaningful interaction with his guests. Most news/current affairs/late night don't give a shit about those kinds of meaningful interactions, just the 10 sec soundbite. In saying that, the tension in this interview between Russell just being himself and the hosts trying to present a version of themselves is just beautiful
@@glogmat it's sad that people dont realise how basic and simple it is to have proper manners and respect. Because the manner in which you act defines how people are treated by you... and simply having manners of this nature make people feel personally recognised, listened to and spoke to directly and in a way where everyone feels they are being given respectful attention whenever they are speaking or in a conversation, or being spoken about for example. Maybe that's why people feel it's so 'personal' and 'love how respectful he is' - because far too many people have either not been taught proper manners or decided they would refuse to afford their fellow humans proper respect at some point in their lives for whatever reason....
He really goes above and beyond in everything that deals with human connection. Same with audiences, even in interviews and panel shows where audience participation is not a thing, he's always trying to involve them, interact with them, draw attention to them. A very warm person indeed.
Michael Jazz a lot is bleeped out, and listeners always have this "WHOA..teehee" reaction, before they relax. Like they wonder if it is "ok?" before they remember to laugh.
Kit Palmer Yes ,we are an awesome country and we do have fun with this stuff but when people go way way over the top we tend to swing the other way. Brand is improving with age.👍
waleed ali did a really good job responding to the actual messages in russell's words. He was able to understand what he said and separate it from the sensationalism of his expression. it caught him off guard. impressive.
They tend to just relax & enjoy the show. Whereas other interviewers try to compete with him for laughs or criticise him for his sex & drug addict past .
@@Chillimonz Jonathan Winters was like a mentor and father to Robin..he could certainly match his game. Look him up and you will see a bit of him in Robins performances.
@@Chillimonz Robin Williams and Russel Brand were definitely gifted the same light speed, free flowing expression gene, and once they're off and running that train ain't stopping. Craig, as a show host, had to throttle back and match his speed to his guests, so that they didn't feel overwhelmed (or at least, not too overwhelmed, as ladies always like it when the guy leads, with comedy, charisma, and a bit of sexual tension).
Its one year later now but look at the people like Peterson or Harris he talked to on this podcast. There are many many men Russel respects probably way more then Wahlid.
+mm1996 The man is a fraud, he has been well and truly found out back in his home land that is why he is on the other side of the planet. He is a hypocrite Champaign socialist.
+Kevin Charlson not "illuminati", Russell is a member of the Fabian Society, look them up. they're Masons. intent on the gain of power through knowlege, they're a pretty interesting bunch, not "dangerous" as far as i can tell, but secretive all the same. they find the hidden powers of the brain through deep meditation and psychedelic drugs
+Mikail Elchanovanich Not dangerous lol, look where they took Britain in the 70s with stupid socialist/communist leaders. We'll never fully recover from that. I doubt people like Jeramy Corbyn or Jamima Kahn are doing any serious tripping to explore consiousness, sorry but they are most of whats wrong with this world, people pretending to be something they're clearly not. I mean can you imagine Milliband, Brown or Blair tripping out their nuts? Im pretty sure we would have had a lot more interesting speachs lol
BigAlFiGala depends what order you're in, and just like all societies, there's many facets, i wouldn't be surprised if the different divisions of the Fabians focused on different things. just because they're a very tight-nit group doesn't necessarily mean they're all the same
I agree. The reason is, and this is why everyone can't help but just sit there in awe, because he is just speaking from a place of truth. When he does this, it speaks to the truth in everyone. So now it feels like he is shining a spotlight in your face and you can't hide behind the image you hold of yourself. He takes you to a place that is more real than where you are currently, it acts like a magnet that you can't help but be drawn to.
Please note this is a FUNNY GUY A GENTLEMAN AND HUMOUR WAS ALLOWED. THIS IS BEFORE WOKENESS AND PRONOUNS AND WHEN PEOPLE HAD A SENSE OF HUMOUR - AND UNDERSTAND COMEDY AND BANTER !!
LW: "He was just really loud in my ear." RB (without any hesitation!): "That is the sense that receives aural vibrations. If i'd been loud in your eyes that would be a problem!" Just brilliant! :-D
When I made (and still make) these kind of creative remarks people think of me as being rude... the fact that he says these things in a humorous manner is, what makes it socially accepted... He is very smart and thinks in images when using language.
@OTAY OTAY probably means Brand is hyper specific. He really paints a picture of his absurd claims in such a way that his audience can see it as well as he does despite most of us being unable to understand half of the words he say.
@OTAY OTAY we all do. If you're interested you could read some of the works on semiotics by Charles Sanders Peirce and Ferdinand de Saussure who are considered 'the founders' of semiotics. Perhaps reading just Peirce will suffice.
How did he learn to speak ther way he does? Has he read and endless amount of books? I mean..I'm fascinated by every element of Russel Brand, but a lot of the times he says things I can't comprehend and words I've never heard before.
This is exactly what I was wondering as well. It's not only that he has an amazing vocabulary, he uses it in an incredibly witty, powerful and magnetic way, he is an absolute conversational and improvisational master.
+Sukalp Mishra a million people have English as first language and are from England but probably not 5% can talk the way this guy can! His grip on the language and vocabulary is much beyond the average
I've downloaded hundreds of Russell Brand's videos, including the Trews. I never get tired after I watching them over, and over again. I'm putting everything in to learn from you, Russell. 'wish he is my relative, or close to guide me. Russell is the first male figure I'm looking up to. My father has never been around.
There's really a lot to learn from this guy whether you're male or female. He embodies that confidence that can bring you to whatever wishes/desires you want.
njoku , if you still have the videos of Russell Brand , please share with me if you like , i have been searching for his full length videos for a while now.
And while he’s brilliant, he’s also kind and sincere about having a message of unity and love. Being an enigma he doesn’t fit into the mainstream boxes, which explains why they can’t handle him but at the same time end up loving him.
He speaks twice as much as a normal "fast" speaking person and it all still makes sense, no babbling, how does he do that? xD Good God, he's hilarious xD I'm gonna watch Russell Brand videos every time I'm down (which is all the time at the moment xD) :D
That's a byproduct of years on drugs - it fires up your brain, but too much and you'll fry it instead. Russell managed to get off drugs right at the sweet spot. If you've ever know somebody who's fried their brains on drugs, you know their stream of consciousness is so fast they can practically babble all day, but because of the fried brains they can't make anything coherent come out. So the fact that Russell can talk at that speed and still be coherent means he didn't get his brain fried. Then you add to that mix his wonderful British accent and incredible vocabulary (chaining three words that all mean the same - cyclical, circular, circuitous), and you've got magic. The rate he speaks gives you little time to mince his words and forces you to just take it all in means every word he drops sinks in at a subconscious level, and that's why he's so charismatic.
Johanna Jordan Thank you very much, working on it (sorry, saw your comment just now) =) ferofax Oh, yes, I knew someone who was (still is?) a drug addict and she was exactly like that personality-wise, very vivid, fast, but I'm afraid she fried her brain, because she already had problems with some cognitive matters (concentration, attention, focus)... You're right, he's a perfect mixture and he got off the drug reel at the (last) right moment, as it seems. Good for him and good for us =)
He puts out total Robin Williams vibes. Just effortlessly funny and witty, but also profound and obviously very intelligent. And just like Robin, Russell never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Most comedians, including Russel suffer from depression. He has bipolar disorder, that is also common in the comedy circuit. So he's personality has the energy and the terrible lows and lots of in-between. So when not hypo-manic or drawing in that energy, he will be relaxed doing hours of yoga. He can be very mellowed. Many comedians draw great humor from depression. It's a coping mechanism in a way.
Are you sure he's bipolar? I've never heard him talk about it, and he would have - he's not guarded about any of his other issues. Having been a drug addict and experiencing related breakdowns/depressive episodes is not the same thing as been manic depressive or even having clinical depression, both chronic.
Tom Yes. Look it up. It's common knowledge. He has openly talked about it. How he was treated for depression as a kid, but back then they did not know to treat the mania. You are not looking in the right places. And yes, I know all about what Bipolar disorder is and all the types and differences, first hand.
Like Robin Williams ~ quick thinker, articulate and clever, but he cant help his constant need to show off. Its fun for a bit, but you could not be around that hyper energy for more than short bursts. Watching too much of him gets exhausting.
I watch this clip. Every time I see it in my feed. Every time I see it recommended. No matter the up-loader. No mater if I am working. No mater i a am busy. EVERY TIME.
Id like to add that in reality if more people were on the same journey that Russel seems to be on, we might create something better that the current, corrupted system interwoven with greed and self gain that the world we've created for ourselves consists of.
He has such a gift for communicating and connecting with people. He could teach a master class in how to flirt with women..holy cow he is slick. Imagine if Russel and Robin Williams had done a show together, people heads would explode and they would be left exhausted.
I absofuckinglutely loved the video! I'm a bit older than Russell, and when he was younger I really didn't had much respect for the guy. But, as he matured, and his comics and life philosophy matured as well, he had became a first grade public figure, regardless of the non-conservative (to put it mildly) approach to delivering his sociopolitical message to the world. Good for you Russell, and may I say, good for all of us, around the world! Finally, this comment comes from a non-british, non-australian, non-anglo-saxone person, but nevertheless a person that understands Russells potential for inspiring and motivating CHANGE throughout the world.
I love this guy! It is so entertaining to watch him and to listen to what he has to say! He is a pure genius! I almost fell under the table from laughing!
Russ exudes the perfect mix of mischief, humour, articulate philosophy without ever being boring...he is so quick witted, profound and clever that he confounds everyone around him with such intensity that they become impotent mutes!
+Jillian Cornelious add to that he is a compassionate vegetarian, not unlike many other comedians, Ricky Gervais, Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, Ellen Degeneres, Steve Martin, "Weird Al" Yankovic & Australia's Dave Hughes......
+greatwhitepriviledge Aloof you vould say not scatterbrained. He is not scatterbrained you are, they are 100% certainly not mute for the reason you have imagined. Quite grating and inane you are welcome to find him but you shouldn't presume so much. Way off the mark.
Captain Jack Sparrow doesn't have anything interesting to say about modern culture & it's skewed moral compass (via it's obsession with wealth, image & money).
@@sarahholland2600 But if the movie Jack SParrow would be here, he would say something interesting about it, in between the drunk fits. I bet ya he would have something interesting to say!
I love how Russell is so unapologetically himself all the time. He does these interviews on TV and doesn't pander to their pre-written questions and answers, he throws the script out, entertains everyone around and tells the honest truth. We need more people in the world like Russell
It is clear to me that he is threatened by Russell’s vibes or energy or confidence or whatever! But it is crystal meth clear... cheesy but i made me laugh 🤷♂️
I know a guy the worked with him for a year and he said he's the most charming person he has ever met and empathetic humble guy who has respect for all people from any background, its not an act thats who he is
+Rick Rude yes the way he handle that old model, masterful, he was critized everytime she spoke, he contract acted with loud in your eyes.... that was just lmao, then you dont need to keep up with me, at this stage he already reframed and own her... then he says she have a perfect nose and that she is a light of energy... winning her earth or any possiblity of being perseived as agressive... then just use her prop to make a joke, he is a master at improv comedy , just genius and the way he charms women is just... I dont even know how he is not with some type of supermodel, or some gorgeous girl... he was the one actually to brake up with kery...
@@kcbh24 what the fuck thats supposed to mean? I have a feeling that in just a few years it will be illegal to be a straight man that naturally charms women....
He operates on a completely different plain to most of us. He inhales oxygen but exhales genius. Lines that would take even the smartest, wittiest, funniest, most progressive people minutes to put together; he delivers as if an afterthought. I think he’s actually one of the most under appreciated minds currently operating.
@@GwaiZai o wow I was just reminded when I was younger and unmarried a friend confirmed saying to me you are quite a funny person. 25 years later, going through abuse, divorce, suicide of loved people, hardship ext ...I lost my humor I guess. But I can enjoy someone like Russell.
Wow, the speed at which perfectly constructed sentences flow out of his mouth is just tremendous. If I ever needed someone to talk on my behalf for my life it would be RB
@@wadellz I doubt it honestly. The guy is an incredible improvisation artist. I believe that on his audition for the movie Arthur, he had one of the most spectacular improv auditions of all time, according to the director - I recall Helen Mirren talking about that, you can find it on RU-vid.
Russell is both a dream and a nightmare on live TV. Endlessly watchable and wildly unpredictable in all the best ways, where he really shines out performing anyone trying to interview him. A ratings gold mine who would also prefer that people don't watch tell-lie-vision at all.
He does write books. The first 2 were autobiographical, 'My Booky Wook' & 'My Booky Wook 2' ...and the latest was titled 'Revolution' which was mostly his philosophical and political ramblings about how the way in which the world is run is a bit off track and what it all could be. I'd recommend reading all 3 of them, he is a ray of light and a beacon of hope and wisdom.
+Coma Toast he also wrote a children's book, a reinterpretation of the pied piper of hamilin with a few fart jokes that was illustrated by Chris riddle and is genuinely beautiful!
You put these two geniuses together... Ask them how the weather is and stand back lol. Don't be surprised that somehow they are talking about Pluto and coffee and you laughing your ass off kind of knowing why :). lol
Roberto Benigni, in Italian and in his best years, was in that league too. These guys can improvise and fire jokes at the speed of light, and when they let loose it's amazing to witness. It's also very challenging for colleagues to keep up and not feel upstaged, which is why these characters often are not particularly popular among their peers... For example I'd bet good money that Laura there will never be on a show with Russell ever again.
- Thank you for the gift, I'll use it however I want to 'cause it's mine now - What an amazing way to say "fuck your 'beauty shallow product'" and at the same time "I'll make you laugh about it so we´ll still be friends" Gotta love this man.
He couldn't call anyone shallow with the amount of effort he puts into his hair and clothes. I don't think it's a fuck you at all. Rather him just having a laugh. It is also very good for Lara Bingle. Great advertising him doing that with the product.
Was just passing by to this this amazing video again... and yeah, having a new perspective now about it, I guess I can take it in a more chilled kinda way, let's have fun with it sort of, after all Russel is all about Love and Kindness all around our communities.
Thanks. This one passed over my head. I was thinking towards the end of the interview that maybe he was being rude. Usually when he seems rude it's because he's responding to the typical charade with a middle finger.
The end had me belly laughing and crying. I love how he has perfected the art of making people feel comfortable, but at the same time pushes the envelope.
I think he's the Laughing Buddha. He's all too real for most people to handle, why is that? he's only saying what people are thinking. Why do we not like truth tellers?
I speak the cold bitter truth too often... People don't like it. People are often happier and contented believing the lies, they're normally a lower and easier standard to attain
Good on them for recognizing that they have an enlightened genius on their show! They were all so playful and fun and didn’t criticize him for being himself. Love it!
What's so impressive is how quickly he can process and articulate without pauses; no, 'uhmms' or 'ya knows' or 'wells' ... only coherent, precise, descriptive dialogue, at bullet speed. It's insane. He has more going on in his brain in 5 minutes than I do all fuckin day. And as if that isn't enough, apparently he has the sexual appetite and energy of a satyromaniac. Oh, and Ms. Perry has implied he's packin'. Talk about having it all ...
I believe his bigger points are thought out ahead of time. Much like a comedian that has a long routine. He does have quick wit and does quite a lot of improv.
