As someone 3 years sober, I can see how you can still acknowledge you liked getting high/drunk/whatever, during that initial rush (no pun intended) but also acknowledge how much it fucked you up mentally/physically, was unsustainable, and ultimately caused a lot of suffering to yourself and others.
