Back in 2002 I met Russell Simmons in Baltimore outside of Club One! I pulled up in my Range Rover, got out and walked up to him. We stood outside and talked for about 5 minutes. I introduced myself by saying I ran an open mic night here in BMore and was trying desperately to break out a BMore rapper. I asked him for advice. The first thing he did was rub my belly saying, "Big Fella, you got to get this body in shape before you can do anything!" I laughed! He was so damn down to Earth! Then he said, "If the stars are aligned for you to make it happen, it'll happen! Keep doing what you doing!" Needless to say when it didn't workout, I left the game knowing I gave it my all and always remembered what he said! Sometimes it's not meant to be! Been teaching for 24 years and managed to give back in a way the stars were aligned for me! He definitely is a real dude!

I'm playing catch up on this show, but so far this Russell Simmons interview is my favorite. I really identified with where he was at, and how he looked at the world. It was incredible to see him be real and himself...and not do "the act." It was an intimate insight into his world & I think it's something fans are going to really identify with. Also loved when Snoop did the classic stoned bliss moment of "who am I?" Wish he could have had a moment to really explore that. (Although maybe he did in his own mind because time runs different on weed sometimes!)

Great interview! It takes some learning how to do it, but so worth it. The vegan (plant based) diet really is the best for you, animals and the planet!
