underrated opinion: 2015-2016 was westbrook's best season. probably played better in the playoffs this year than any other year and seemed to have put it all together in terms of how to effectively contribute everything without micromanaging everything like he did in his triple double seasons. also had the most success in the playoffs with durant without harden
@Easymoney Dawg so ur saying if he did exactly what he did in 2016 but in 2017? russ completely forgot how to get his team involved in 2017 evidenced by his 37 ppg on like 38% from the floor and the game he dropped 51 went 4-18 in the 4th. in 2016 russ picked apart the spurs, dominated the mavs and outplayed curry in the conference finals marginally. im talking about him as a winner and team player. russ in the triple double years was no team player and did not have the teams to play like one but he did himself no justice by playing for his stats. look at what jimmy butler did this year, his stats aint nice but those 3 playoff series wins sure do, and westbrook in 2018 might have had a better team but couldnt get them past utah cuz of a stupid duel with ricky rubio where he was flat out garbage games 2-3-4.
Yes i totally agree with you, only Lebron played better playoffs in 2016. Westbrook’s my favorite player and that year in the span of 2 months I thought he was the best player in the world and I loved it. Shame he decided to go more individual to build his legend
+Danny Lin That's regular season, in the playoffs he's shooting a near 40% at 38%. His making 3s in games that matter, in the playoffs. Plus he does more than just shoot 3s, and he doesn't need 3s to be a great shooter. He has a killer pull up game.
"Westbrook can't shoot jumpers", "Westbrook can't shoot 3s", "Westbrook can't pass, "westbrooks not clutch", "westbrook can't do anything else but drive" (26 ppg, 11 ast, 7 Rebs, 2 stls, 46% from the field, 40% from 3) but yet curry's better? Westbrook is the best overall and most dominating PG in the league, he brings more to the table than any PG will ever bring. Westbrook>Any PG #THEREALMVP #BestPG
James Beverley Well OKC tend to choke leads in the 4th quarter and Kawhi can leave KD ice cold in some games which will probably lead Spurs to win and Westbrook tends to be too immature and cocky with his shot selections, that'll give the Spurs the advantage and the bench of OKC is a liability compared to Spur's bench.
Regardless of how well Westbrook plays they will not "soar" through it(if, by that, you mean breeze by it like its nothing). If Russ plays like this, they'll take the Spurs to 7. If Russ plays like this, & KD plays like MVP KD while being guarded by Kawhi, they'll win in 7.
Ibaka, Adams and the OKC bench need to show up when Russ isn't on the court. Throughout the whole season and series, when Russ gets benched the score either gets diminished or gets worse. OKC needs to play like a team to win a championship. That's how the spurs/Warriors done it. It's not about individual play its about winning games as team hence the phrase "Strength In Numbers"
+Rashaun Strickland Westbrook doesn't come up big like KD & guess what? KD's a former mvp. When Westbrook went down, the thunder were the 3rd seed with KD. When KD went down, they were a 9th seed with Russ. If Russ was actually useful in the 4th quarter in big games, then he might be on KD's level. But until then, this is KD's team.
+Kevin Hate You have to remember the amount of injuries russell went through that season. Not to mention he played through one injury with a fracture in his face and then averaged 30, 10 and 10 and won 19 of the last 31 games in that stretch. If russell was fully healthy, OKC could've gone as far as being championship contenders.
bruh real shit u guys dont look at russ at mount rushmore for pg all time? its been proving only haters hate to see a fast arrogant guy dominant wit ease lls
Ankle Reaper247 Kawhi Leonard is one of the best players right now and is a 2 time DPOY for a reason. Kawhi recent gotten 32 points,6 3-pointers,7 rebounds,2 assists,5 blocks, 4 steals, and 0 turnovers.Kawhi have yet to reach his prime years, but yet he can lockdown on LeBron in the 2014 Finals(which is why he won the Finals MVP) Danny Green can guard Kevin Durant,Green is a underrated defender. Spurs are the best defense team in the the league right now, a injured Dallas team(while Spurs swept an injured Grizzles team) gave the Thunder some troubles. The Spurs are the better team than the Thunder. They have smarter/selfless players, better defense, better ball movement, and the better coach.
+Darkness Breaker and Memphis is not as good coached as Dallas .. Dallas is dangerous period ,, because they had nothing to lose .. Dallas didn't give okc trouble KD just didn't fell interested in this series .. You can tell how he played .,,, Memphis gave them trouble in there final game and ??? ..,
+Darkness Breaker How many times have the spurs said kawhi is gonna do this, he's gonna do that against the thunder. But yet time and time again Russ and Kd always find a way to punish the spurs. They may not win but it didnt mean they completely shut down Russ and Kd, All I'm saying is you can try to stop Russ and Kd, but its a hand full just because they do more than just 1 thing they hurt you in so many ways. And to add the fact Okcs bench is stepping up, Ibaka is stepping up, spurs is gonna have a handful. Especially when Russ developed great passing ability. Even Pop admit that he could gameplan and say there going to stop Kd and Russ but they still go out there and do there thing. This OKC team is a different team in the playoffs, so don't count them out. Spurs may have a better team but they do lack age and flexibility. It's going to be hard to compete in a 7 game series against a fast and athletic team in the thunder. They've shown they hard times in that when they lost against them in the beginning of the season and in the game that they barely won and the game they won against OKCs bench. Kawhis is the best defender but there's no saying he's going to stop russell from scoring, heck russell doesn't even need to score to affect the game, plus he has so much in his arsenal it'll even be harder guarding him.
Marcus Amir Batum out= More touches for lin= maybe a blessing in disguise? Either way I still know we need Nic back because he played well in Miami. Also C-Lee with two clutch offensive boards. Loved that pickup
