Westbrook returned the next season to average a triple double, break the record for triple doubles in a season, will his mediocre team to the 6 seed in the West, all while leading the league in scoring. During his 2016-17 MVP campaign, Westbrook averaged 32 ppg, 10 apg, and 11 rpg.
