The SU-8 is a Premium Russian Attacker that has FOUR 45mm cannons with 80mm of penetration! You absolutely do not want this thing anywhere near your tank!
The SU-8 is really victim to its own armament. This plane is EXTREMELY heavy and large and the additional bombs and rockets you can carry make it even more unwieldy.
Overall this Russian Plane in War Thunder can be fun if you can make it work. The SU-8 in War Thunder was available on the last Battle Pass but you can still pick one up on the Gaijin Marketplace.
Russian Aircraft in War Thunder are usually quite nimble so this was definitely a challenge to use.

The only tanks i could imagine this working would be the sturmpanzer 2 and brummbär because the range of modern self propelled howitzers is to big to shoot in indirect fire on wt maps

It's nowhere near as good as the tis-ma, but if you have good aim and air superiority you can really lay it out in this. It is a brick but it hits like one too. It's also pretty tough, as your first game shows.

@@ben_rez08 cannon runs>bombs. I can aim bombs that literally all my bombs hit and run them if I can but cannon runs are superior. Also try aiming the American 75mm or the German 50mm. Good luck.

If you have ever flown it you would realize it’s pretty awful. All those guns mean nothing when you are unmaneuverable, and going for gun runs you can crash extremely easily.

I don't agree with Odd on this one. The Su-8 is amazing and there is no way to convince me otherwise. It's a literal 4.7 A-10. If you have air superiority it's a monster, if not, you are going to have a very hard time tbh. Don't sell it. And on the maneuverability part of it, yes it does compress, but I was able to hang with an A6M5 Ko and Wyvern and beat both of them just by turning. Don't play it if you know there are 2+ enemy aircraft up if you have no friendly air support, you are basically incendiary food, and even if you do put your fire out you will have no fuel because it only has one fuel tank. Just play smart and you'll enjoy the Su-8, I promise.

Controls -> Tank -> Weaponry -> Select Machine Gun bind (q) bind (alt) for "Reset weapon selection" so you can control both at the same time after just in case.

Actually Odd you can kill Hetzer from the front (and from any angle really) with just HE round, you just have to hit the rooftop MG. Hetzers roof armor is so thin any HE round over 75mm is enough to overpressure the crew. Similar thing is possible against any open-top turret vehicle like M10, M18, Wirbelwind, Ostwind etc.. Pretty sure Pvkv is on the list as well.

From what I remember this was supposed to be a replacement for the IL-2 but by the time it was ready for production the Russians were so far west it wasn't worth building despite its promising performance. I have the same issue as you Odd where every single American tank starts yeehawing at me as soon as I get within a mile of the battle. When this plane was announced I was a giggling with sheer delight for 30 minutes straight. Boy was I disappointed. Flies like a bus but hits like one too. You should try out some Diet Bias: take out the BT-7 F-32 and pair it with the premium Su-6. It's a mean little combo.

Thanks Odd, it's always great to see you putting up some content...but I'm not watching Russian/German E-Z mode videos anymore. Just can't anymore. Now lets look at P61 compressibility...or maybe He219...it's GREAT to see some Russian aircraft suffer from the same thing...for a change. At least it doesn't shed its wings at 350 kph in a turn...like the Israeli premium A-4.

8:00 Oh, I'm not laughing in the slightest, but the fools who don't know better are... LMAO I fly my IL-2 (1942) up to 7.7 to great effect; the 23mm guns and RBS rockets will tear apart almost any vehicle in game, the plane can pull harder than most fighters, some biplanes as well when slow enough and it can withstand an insane amount of damage while remaining airworthy. Oh, and it's also near impossible to compress into the ground unless you're trying to, it can pull a vertical loop right after takeoff and land again.
