Yet, to be honest, every point Mr. Lavro makes has already been reiterated again and again throughout these past ten years by another person of equal stature, an American, believe it or not: Mr.Jeffrey Sachs.

The irony about unilateral sanctions against Russia over the past 2 1/2 decades is the trend toward a degree of self-sufficiency that may never have occured had they been permitted normal trade with other nations including those of Europe.
