Ukraine committed around 1.2-1.3 million troops to this war. Russia around 900k. Ukraine claims Russians have manpower advantage lately. About 90 percent of casualties on either side is due to air strikes. Russia has huge advantage in number of artillery and drones as well air superiority. Now, it makes sense why Ukraine is struggling to find new troops to replace 32k they lost, according to Zelensky

Obviously Ukraine cannot do well without Western aid - but they have been getting it, so they are able to continue fighting. Manpower will be an issue though. My guess is that Ukraine hopes that the populace inside Russia will eventually see too many bodies sent home, too many disabled veterans, too much civilian production shifted towards military production, that they will demand regime change. I am not sure if regime change is likely, but I wouldn't wager it impossible - see the Wagner 'coup'

Sad fact: The West has already published Russia has destroyed over 244,000 Buildings in Ukraine. This is Data from the West. Being a US Army Veteran I am willing to bet those Structures housed Ukrainian Forces. The Orcs are winning. They have a different strategy than Ukraine. Russia uses Long range projectiles, then they use medium. Then the Assaults ground forces advance. US has a history of Proxy Wars that have a huge casualty rate of the locals.

Basically all estimates give losses for both sides in the lower to mid hundreds of thousands. According to confirmed obituaries, the minimum for both sides is: 50k for Ukraine and 57k for Russia (doesn't include DPR and LPR militias).
Ukraine is running out of men. A recent video showed them training child soldiers. Meanwhile Russia did just a partial mobilization only once but has an army several times larger. No money can replace men. So Ukraine will ultimately lose unless NATO troops join them which is highly unlikely.
And why don't we have an option to vote for peace in our leadership parties here in the US? To this day, neither party works for peace. What a shame. Meanwhile the misery continues.

There are several errors in this analysis, GPS is not what what the glide bombs are using, Russia has upped its drone game, losses of the man power is not that great on either side and Russia is bigger thus it is easier to replenish. The slow pace of weaponry going into Ukraine has enabled Russians to dig in. With passing time the price to actually gain back the territories is becoming higher and higher. Ukraine's problems are deep if you follow the reporting (what gets destroyed is better than news) one can make several problematic discoveries, new recruits are of low morale, fortifications have not been properly built, and there is a shortage of personnel. I think that unless NATO commits troops to Ukraine or Russia implodes politically from the inside, there is little that will change the territories are to be returned without a massive loss of life. Even then all that remains of the East is towns turned to rubble. Rebuilding these villages that already were losing their young people (before the war) to big cities like Kiev and abroad (if they can) is not going to work out. Russia has paid a pretty high price for the war as well, Russia is struggling to advance even if it slowly is, but I think Russia is playing the doctrine of attritional warfare. Western Media cannot make up if Russia is winning or losing, are they soon in Poland or have problems advancing in East of Ukraine? Western media is part at fault for the crazy expectations, the propaganda has been pretty bad (yelled years about fake news, now committed to it daily), I think the window for kicking Russians out was the best during the first offensive to recapture vast amounts of land back in 2022. If Russia cannot be put on the back footing this year (very unlikely) then after next winter their defensive lines will be even better. You may laugh at the North Koreans but they are experts at digging tunnels and fortifications, they can't feed their people but this is a skill that they have mastered. So a long winter with lack of electricity and North Koreans digging more defensive lines. I have not seen West commit troops or enough military equipment to counter that. No wonder people are losing hope in "winning" this war, what does winning mean at this point, destroyed towns and endless amount of dead on both sides.I am no Putin fan, I will not shed a tear if he should "fall out of a window" at some point, but we need to be realistic about this. I think we should keep helping arm Ukraine, but I am becoming skeptical about this winning business more based on facts than wishes of "experts".

Because Russia loses more men in a month than we lost in Iraq in 20 years and they aren't even to the hard part yet. The hard part isn't winning the ground war, the American coalition did that in a few weeks in Iraq, the hard part is controlling the insurgency. Russia isn't even at the hard part yet.
