Let Russia launch the machine. It is a miracle that russia has even been able to make local parts. It will take a while but Russia will eventually improve those parts. The plane remains a good plane!
This info is quite old, early days when sections were imposed. The landing gears were main components with weight issues switching to Russian made. Last year Dubai air show this aircraft was introduced with 99% Russian parts, range and height is sorted, going thru certification which is 98% complete. Range estimate 3200+ km now height to 40000 ft.
All this controversy on the planes weight and distance have arisen only after March 2024 Kommersant article. All these figures are from March 2024 onwards.
Thank you for answering this question. I suspect the decreased range is really only due to slightly less efficient engines. The increased MTOW might allow extra fuel to make up the range no?
The engine has all working data, far surpass CFM56 engine. So it should not have short range, providing that the 320 or 737 that use CFM56 can fly longer than this.
