given how some channels are and how people are, this has to be the most unbias site and peaceful there is, and for people to inject politics into it is a bit off given how flexible politics seems to be with its attitude. the fact he got these in the UK well done tilly carry on your sterling work
Great stuff Mr Tilly. I would offer some advice based on tests I did 30 years ago. If it is possible for your long range testing, lay some flags or a concrete base for a solid and stable bench rest. The reason is the ground in summer gets very hot on a sunny day, much hotter than the air temperature 3 feet above the ground. The air just above the ground say to 12" is highly unstable (the mirage effect that you could see), it displaces images more the further the range. The Ground (soil surface) temperature can be 30-40 degrees C, 36" above the ground can be 20 degrees lower. Hot air is less dense than cold air which sounds great in theory for long range shooting but it tends to have a very negative effect on accuracy. The difference in density of the air from 12" above the ground to 36" above the ground can be as much as 0.2Kg per cubic metre which looks low until you multiply it by 40 metres target distance. Prone/ground shooting also heats up barrels, PCP tanks/cylinders and effects regulator mechanisms on a hot sunny day which is not good. Quick visualisation, you are on holiday in the Costa Del Somewhere, you take your shirt off to cool down, you take your footwear off and your feet are burning. The more you learn the more complicated it gets but its infuriatingly wonderful. Keep up the good work.
Interesting that the pointed pellets performed so well. The only semi-pointed pellet I use is Air Arms Diabolo Hunter, which outperform the Fields in my old Scorpion FT gun. Will try the Russian version. Thanks.
Morning TG. Unusual designed pellet, I guess the more contact a pellet has within the barrel, then the more its flight can be impacted by imperfections or dirt within the barrel. Could you determine if they were a harder or softer lead composition? I would have expected to see more drop than you got, did you chrono any of them to compare to the JSBs?
Morning mate, I ran a couple of the pointed ones over the chrono. 671fps .10.9gn for 11ftlb. They load pretty nicely and appear to be pretty soft in the grand scheme of things. The ring sealed ones seem to get hung up on the leading edge of the ring, there was consistent rifling grooves cut Into them though. I don't think I've ever seen any pellets with a similar shape/design. 🤔
Im surprised by all the internet police comments on this video by people who think they know something about politics. Can you not leave the man alone and let him make a video without pontificating to everyone?
I wonder if they still make 'Spitzer' hand moulds, as a kid back in the early 80's I used to cast loads out of scrap lead they were bullet shape and worked well if you were careful on how you removed the flashing off..
Never had a great deal of success with Soviet pellets, I'd say the ones you've bought were from I. HUNTER, and the ones you tested were in the country way before the war started, so your conscience is clear.. Reason for that is that nobody buys them, they are mainly awful.. As for pointed pellets, the only ones I've used that have excelled are the QYS pointed.. Amazingly good.. Great test though, with SURPRISINGLY descent results..
It's a mad world we live in mate. I'm kind of surprised they are readily available in the UK though The channel isn't the place for politics, but I will say, I just wish everyone around the world would chill out and try to get along with each other. 🙄
Probably not the best idea to review products made in Russia whilst the war is going on. Ironically I think that the VDV mess kit is one of the best versions of a mess kit that I have seen. Unironically the designs of the pellets are most likely direct rip offs of existing pellets. For clarity, should the Russian bot no understandee, #SlavaUkraini
I don't know what route they take into the UK, I imagine they go to a 2nd country before being imported Into the UK maybe? Maybe they are actually manufactured somewhere else?
@@tillysgunstocks Yeah. They tried to do that with Russian air guns too, but the import embargo says imported from or made in Russia, and it covers all firearms and ammunition, and in the UK airguns are firearms and pellets are ammunition. It's probably either that Border Force doesn't know or it's too small fry for them to care, but over a dozen Edgun Leshy 2s were impounded by Border Force and destroyed a couple of years ago, meaning those who paid for them lost thousands.
Interesting conundrum this one….to see what’s being made in Russia, whether they’re ok/useable but also whether it’s morally acceptable to buy from and support such a regime. Good on you finding finding these different pellets to test but personally I won’t be buying them.
Where did Tilly get them from, as I'm pretty sure that's breaking sanctions. IT'S NOT POLITICS, IT'S THE LAW. I think this video needs to be removed ASAP for your own good. And NO I'm not reporting it, but you bet your last 1p that there will be someone who sees this as supporting the RAS..Russian Aggressor State.
@@Odysseuss. I think every airgunner and his dog have a tin of Russian pellets in there possession, I don't think for one second Tilly is gonna get arrested, hell!!! I Hunter have tones of em..
Normally I really enjoy your video content. But sorry to say given all that is happening in the world this time I am not appreciating this one. People don't appear to realise that every penny going in to the Russian economy a percentage goes straight in to feeding its war effort and sadly genocide. I really wish people would realise they are not separate from who they support with their money. It's why you are always best to make a morals choice when you buy something or even choosing to promote something.
Hi ken, I do appreciate the comments honestly. The world is a crazy place, I just wish everyone could atleast try to get along with each other. These are readily available here in the UK,which on the face of it does seem odd. I wonder if they're actually made elsewhere 🤔
Countries the world over are doing the same, some even financing wars they are not physically taking part in. By the same logic you could say H&N are supporting genocide in Palestine. But this isn't the place for political opinion really.
@@tillysgunstocksYou've certainly caught my attention, anything that adds a bit of balance regarding this awful proxy conflict is ok by me. When the West wakes up to the obvious conclusion that NATO won't be allowed to camp on Russia's doorstep., the better for all of us.
We are all here for our love of the sport mate, I dont get into world affairs. I do however just wish everyone could atleast try to get along. These are readily available in the UK, which on the face of it does seem unusual. Maybe they are actually made elsewhere?
@rockitrockit8517 You shouldn't believe everything the man on the tele tells you. Maybe you should buy some 'ukranian' pellets, and keep funding the bandera worshipping country.
Not really mate 🤣. Might as well not buy HN with that thinking. Also the majority of Europe still importing russian gas.... Let's leave politics out of it.
Ooo, the grimace on your face loading the heavy domes, at one point I thought you were going to throw up 🤮, 😅😂😅, are you still in sub 12, doesn’t look like there worth the price, unless super cheap, 🫣
