yeah, there has been plenty of interviews with both US and Uk marines who left and said it was absolute hell. because the Russians aren't dudes in caves with rusty AK's. they're a near pair adversary. with comparable tech and weaponry. in some case, its even better. such as there super sonic missile systems. the US doesn't even have that tech yet... I remember one guy saying that he felt safe in Iraq, even when under fire. But while he was in Ukraine, even at the rare, he could hear the fighting and never felt safe. the world hasn't seen a conflict this intense since the second world war. its about time people wake up and realise how horrific this shit is. upwards of a million people have already died in this war, in the span of 2 years. it aint a joke...

The next day you could a large gain near Krasnohorivka and nothing for a while. With a front line that is as long as the whole of the eastern Ukrainian. The Russians only need to push enough in one area that Ukraine has to direct its reserves to one side of the country...then the Russians make a push on the other side of the country and the Ukrainians have to respond to that and swing their reserves in the opposite direction. Rinse repeat.. moving all those troops and equipment is a huge logistics burden. Plus putting units on the move exposes them to possible introdiction strikes.. the Russians can keep this game up indefinitely the Ukrainians even with their interior lines of communication are going to be worn down faster.

Brother please read and answer this comment because I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time. I feel like nobody among the military analists really understand what the pace of Russian advance means. It means that how fast territory is conquered is not important, nor is the capture of these specific small towns. The Russians intend to capture all of the Donbass, yes, but first they seek to grind down the Ukrainian army enough to launch a big ground-taking offensive. They don't intend to capture it block by block. So until they reach that favorable ratio of forces, who holds what is insignificant. That's why the Russians so easily gave up so much ground when the attrition did not favor them. And so how fast these towns fall is irrelevant. And when the Pro-UA people say "Bakhmut was not important" or "Avdiivka was not important" or "Vovskask is not important" they are right. None of those places had any strategic value. They are nothing but dirt and rubble. And they only serve as a battleground, nothing more. This is not HOI4, this is attrition warfare. What had massive strategic value during those battled was the outcome of the battles fought there. The attrition suffered. The men lost, the ammo spent or destroyed, the equipment destroyed etc. The only reason why Russia is attacking in the first place is because they seek big battles with maximum attrition. If neither side is attacking then attrition is low. The Russians don't care who is attacking who, only that big battles are being fought, that's why they completely halt their advance whenever the Ukrainians tried to attack. That's why they let the Ukrainians hold on to the Krinky bridgehead. The goal is to have as many Ukrainian personnel and equipment gathered in a small area so they can be easily targeted. That's the whole reason for these offensives. And the towns are picked based on operational advantage. The only reason why the attacks are not taking place in some random open field is that the Russians has better attrition rates in urban warfare than they would in open ground offensives. But otherwise capturing an empty field would be just as important as capturing a town. And that's the reason why they're so slow, because the Russian high command doesn't care about speed of advance. They only care about losses. So think about this, the Russians suffer the highest casualties when they are storming. Meanwhile, 90% of Ukrainian casualties are from FABs and Artillery. So not only do insistent advances lead to higher Russian losses, but the Ukrainians are actually losing fewer men during these attacks because you cannot drop 500kg bombs on a position while your guys are assaulting it. And for what? To capture 2 streets so that the enemy can now fall back to intact concrete positions which need to be hammered to the ground from stratch? Is it not better to just keep bombing the enemy who is occuping positions with their cover already destroyed until they retreat by themselves, and only then attack? Do you people not see that that's what the Russians are doing? The pictures showing districts being wiped out completely from the map should be a dead giveaway. So Russian attacks are only frequent enough and intensive enough to keep the scale of the battle and ensure that the Ukrainians mass their forces in those towns. THE TOWNS AND VILLAGES THEMSELVES HAVE NO VALUE!! HOW FAST THEY ARE CONQURED IS IRRELEVANT. Matter of fact it's the opposite of good for the Russians to capture ground quickly, because as I said it's favorable for them to fight a big battle in a town where the enemy's cover was already destroyed.

Thank you for you efforts. Yes, this is what’s happening. It’s not being mentioned as you request because it hasn’t been formalized. For anyone who did not or does not understand the value in the steady progress the Russians are making, your comment becomes helpful. Eventually, the Ukrainian army will be depleted to enough of a state that the Russians can capture larger swaths. They learned that this method “appears weak” and allows them to attrit nato and Ukraine simultaneously. No body is mentioning what’s happening behind the front line as Russia continues building and expanding their logistical web. I’ve been saying it from the beginning. The Russians do not wish to suffer casualties en masse. By the time this war is over “the Ukraine” which has always been the only weakness in the Russian empire’s existence following Khans departure will be the most heavily fortified territory of the Russian federation. Russia will no longer have to fear NATO and the US and can grow peacefully once again.

Bang on, the only thing I'd add is that politically, Russia can operate in the Donbass republics but it becomes harder to justify with their international allies if they were doing this in Kiev, for example. So it is imperative that they destroy the fighting capabilities of the UA before they advance too far. This helps keep BRICS and other countries on board.

They will conquer all the territory they want once the cohesion of the ukranian army collapses do to their heavy losses........ But Ukraine simply dosen`t seem to get it. They insist in defending positions till they are LITERALLY undefendable, without any regards for their own losses........ They should aim to inflict as many losses as possible to the attacking russians, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, keeping their forces as intact as they can, even if this means retreating as soon as the reatio of losses is no longer "profitable" for them. Even if they manage to inflict heavy losses to the russians, if they get their own forces depleted in the process, it is a victory for Russia, because Russia can replace their lost manpower, while Ukranine is reaching a point where they have problems to do so, and mantain the quality of their fighting units........ Just look at the oposite forces: Russia is able to attack ANYWHERE at the same time, because their REGULAR TROOPS are capable of cunducting offensive actions, while the ukranians can only counterattack when (and where) they send their elite troops, with the rest of the ukranian army basically filling the gaps and offering a tempting oportunity for a russian attack.

UK Ministry of Defence: The glorious Ukrainian forces have courageously and bravely retreated from Chasiv Yar and Krasnohorivka because they have no strategic and tactical value whatsoever. The defending these locations is useless from the military standpoint and UK Ministry of Defense notes the bravery ingenuity of the Ukrainian forces who have reterated doing it in a victorious and glorious manner. On the other hand, in capturing Chasiv Yar and Krasnohorivka the Russians have lost 200,000 soldiers, 10,000 tanks, 5,000 airplanes and countless others pieces of equipment. Furthermore, Russians have lost numerous battleships and destroyes in and around Chasiv Yar and Krasnohorivka and even main Russian aircraft carrier has been badly damaged and taken out of action.

at this point Russian ground forces must surely be the strongest in the world. I dont care if other armies have better tech but in terms of combat experience no one can match the Russians

The problem I see, is that this war is actually PROFITABLE for the russian average people, who have seen their wages increased, and are no in a full-employment scenario, while, the only ones dying in Ukraine are "volunteers", wich seems acceptable for the russian public opinion. So, at the end of THIS war, Putin will have a thriving economy based on war-time production, and around 500.000 battlehardened veterans with nothing to do..........What could possibly go wrong? Not that I think they would attack any NATO-member, but there are some ex-soviet republics in the Caucasus and Asia that will be probably "invited" to re-join a "greater union" under Putins leadership........

Not even close. Russian ground forces are very badly depletely. Officers dead, nco dead, elite units wasted, best tanks mostly gone. It will take decades to recover. Entire vdv brigades wiped out. Who trsins the next special ops forces? The veterans are gone. Each wave is more green than the last. Russia has bodies, but garbage logistics, leadership and training.

@@LDJ42069 USA and western countries have no military experience. They also probably have limited weapons because they gave everything to Ukraine. Western Countries have tiny armies in Europe. USA has an OK size, but its spread around the world and is a woke army now.

I’ve watched those war footage videos on their own , but you narrating what they are doing makes me understand it much more . I miss a lot of the little things that you explained . Makes sense . Like the former unit rotating out . The electronic warfare . Plus the boxes of supplies they leave for the next units
