This Soviet Bi-plane was very nicely restored in Poland during the 1990's. Paul Allen bought it and shipped it to Arlington Washington. I believe it then got substantially more restoration attention. I wonder if they did the engine and where. I suspect they zero timed it. Looking at it today the prop on it looks brand new. I suspect it is.
The aircraft currently rests in the Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum in Everett Washington. They used to regularly fly this airplane but the museum has a new owner that has not conducted any public flying demonstrations. The museum currently has two full time mechanics keeping the fleet flyable. They are doing regular maintenance and the museum is still doing engine run-ups outside. The last one was October 26 2023 when the Fiesser Storch and the P-51 were fired up and taxied around. We were told that it would be the last engine run up of the season and the next one would be in March of 2024.
