saw them with Mastodon in Munich 3 days ago for the first time and loved it! but after listening to their albums i have to say that i prefer their live sound, it was just so surprisingly heavy. Mastodon had a killer setlist though, great mix of new & old stuff
@@jakeybball yes they are entertainers not artists , it depends on what you looking for , as an artist and who looks for something new and heavy that have a concept and meaning , i can tell you mastodon is entertainment not art
I so enjoyed this whole hour of this RU-vid concert.....8/5/24 Not sure how i came across this band other than listening to RU-vid and the give suggestions... New Favorite
Russian Circles was by far one of the best live events I ever attended. These 3 gentlemen really deliver live, a cathartic wall of sound and a distinctive experience.
These dudes are like the loudest, biggest sounding 3 piece band out there. Dave's fucking huge 26" kick acrylic kick drum is punching me in the face through the screen from the past.
Eric Its actually a 24” x 18 bass drum. This is his Vintage 70’s stainless steel Ludwig kit with his Gretch steel super hoops. Other sizes 13x8 and 16x16. He uses a Ludwig Copperphonic snare drum w/ Remo emperor head. Remo black dots on his heads. He uses a 26 acrylic in the states. :) just to inform you I’m a nerd with this stuff
Bill Burr was going nuts about him on a podcast last year. Some gig in New York last year he told about a million listeners to go to the gig to "see this fawking amazing drummah". He plays a little bit too.
27:38 that riff tho 35:05 and that riff tho. Jeezus I know I'm kinda late to this party but damn. I'm not even into "metal" but this is just too awesome to not be completely amazed
I love watching the man behind the kit playing like his life depends on it!! He inspires me to do something and give 100% to it! Russian Circles is my favorite instrumental metal band period! The intensity they play with is infectious \,,/,
I cannot express how much I love this band. I’ve only seen then live once and hate myself for missing them evertime they’ve come to my city. They are so perfect live, so mysterious, so omnipresent
This is so awesome. I keep coming back to this over and over again. One of the best bands in the last ten years. Seen them live twice with Mastedon and became an instant fan.
The build up for Vorel got me feeling I don 't need a preworkout... LOVE IT... that filter on the guitar to tho! HURRY UP AND PLAY IN NJ AGAIN RUSSIAN CIRCLES!! #fucovid
What a nice surprise! Just 4 cameras, some fog, some lights, and all the magical of Russian Circles music is revealed! I knew that those three guys were good, but I really like your video montage! Well done, man! Quelle belle surprise! Seulement 4 caméras, du brouillard, des lumières et toute la magie de la musique Russian Circles est révélée! Je savais que ces trois gars étaient bons, mais j'aime vraiment votre montage vidéo! Bien joué, mec!
Listen to these guys is like trying to find a dingo in a diamond mine. Complex maestro's that bring forth a barrage of mutiny at all time, raging full-on.
Crowd and band are like a symbiotic beast. I remember watching ISIS play at a Soundwave festival and they were the first band I saw play so cohesively together. Good to see bands still carrying the torch!
the whole thing strikes me as cultish, wierd in a good way. It never ceases to amaze me the incredibly complex sound a band of just three members can play.
Here is what has been puzzling me about Russian Circles for years: Is the drummer playing to a live clicktrack for the looped parts on guitar or is he just that constant and precise? Both is bloody impressive for they have very organic changes in dynamics and tempo...but a loop is a loop. So, you wise folks out there, elaborate cuz its tough to google it in interviews :D.
Russian Circles - LIVE - they OWN!! & this OWNS UP !! AF !! Can be of a visual meditation (as i just did) or strictly audio etc. **Wait for second song & just flow. ...FLOW FLOW FLOW the Fuck out with it 💪💥💓💕⚡🔥⚡
I'm still so pissed that I missed them in Cologne recently... Seriously need to see them Live again soon! Gladly I secured me one of those lovely Vinyl at least.
I saw these guys last month in Guadalajara, and maybe I'll never be able to spell or write his last name on a right way, but I'm convinced Dave is a fucking God!!!
Great set! the first song sounds a lot like Isis which is a compliment. Russian Circles is able to move through genres in a flash and this is one of the many things that makes them such an interesting progressive. band.
