These videos are really great! I was honestly a bit discouraged starting out but this gave me a way to really get into the game and have some fun really fast. I understand the disclaimer that maybe not best way to level starting out, but it has been great fun following you and using your techniques. So much so, I am actually excited about playing the game and learning the details of the mechanics. thank you for sharing!
Really interesting idea and right now probably the fastest way to do the first levels. Income seems to be very close to what you get the 'normal way'. Maybe a bit lower but it really depends on the luck with the cafe orders. When I tried out a new account for the new new-players-experience, I went to lvl 11 in like 9 hours and was left with 230 silvers. (I almost fully went with float fishing and did spent 149 silvers for the second float fishing set, maybe some baits and the stuff for making tea. But I also finished like 16 cafe orders.) Some additional comments: - the spare float-fishing set from the administration now only gives free worms, if you have less than 120 worms in your inventory or something like that. (It probably increases the number of worms in your inventory to 119. I've seen ppl getting over 100 worms from it sometimes.) - the leveling rewards for the first 10 levels seem to be much more valuable for spinnfishing than for float fishing. While you get the rod from the light spinning set for 149 silver, you get the rod from the 45 silver float fishing set at lvl 11. (Might have been adjusted but at least it was that way.) The rewards you get, depend on how you cought the fish, that gave you the lvl up. I havent tried bottom/feeder fishing yet. - it would be interesting, if you have to use all 5 hours of the bought trip at once or if the time stops when you log out. Or if you even could make multiple trips out of it. - my first question about the rental sea fishing set is, if you can put it away in your house/tent, before the time runs out. (I actually would assume that the rental set gets deleted out of your inventory when you leave the map, it might work, if theres a house in norway though.) - as for using skillpoint for the sea fishing:while it says spinning wheels in you language version, it says stationary reel in mine and shares the skillpoints with all other stationary reels. So spending points there might not be wasted but also not that much helpfull, since you dont need the additional casting range on sea.
Man, the Forest Lake map looks pretty. I wish it was a walkable and fishable map like the old one. However, it looks like everything is scripted there. Greetings, Zosche.
This is a cool experiment, though like you I would strongly recommend against it for new players. For me, the best thing about the game that made me love it (aside from the physics based realistic fishing) was the progression and discovering new things all the time, one steady step at a time. It's already overwhelming for new players without anything unlocked. I guess if someone absolutely only wanted to do marine fishing then it's an option, but for those who want the best fishing game experience, they'd just be overlevelling without gaining skills in areas other than marine fishing.
i tested the trip and went from lvl 15 to 19 in the duration. one fish gave me 35000 xp, but i cant remember what type of fish, but it was not that big. it was also in the same spot.
I want to do this but I have questions, if your time runs out while you still out at sea do you lose everything? If you leave the game to respawn in town do you still respawn in that town with no issues? Those are my main concerns as I'd love to do this to farm up some extra silver to finally get my first proper rod
The thicker your leader, the lower your bite rate will be, especially for the most picky/ninja fish. Using fluorocarbon is more bite resistant, which you have to craft yourself. You can use a thicker leader if you are specifically targeting halibut/sharks, but only if you have taken into consideration what would then become the weakpoint in your setup (it would have to be line then). I'd recommend using a leader that matches whatever you are targeting. That's far more efficient, and on the rare occassion that you do get bitten off, you will easily be able to afford the loss. Keeping your line always taught during a fight is another important way to prevent getting bitten off.
@@B.D.E. Ive had zero issues with biterate on the sea with shock leaders that are 60kg. Like 10 bites on the drop at 20m in a row kinda rates. I don't think these sea fish are very concerned with leader size.
Soo many noobs are going to take this advice. Its not a good idea UNLESS you solely have saltwater ambitions. RF4 is going to be flooded with noobs that dont have the 1st clue, yet alone the gear to fish other maps if they follow this "guide".
