Some from other nationalities fled and went there too. The French have no idea what they’re getting themselves into. Fighting this war is not like Africa, Afghanistan and Iraq. In this war, given there is no Ukrainian air superiority, the French will be subjected to non-stop artillery shelling, FAB bombs, TOS, rockets etc. What makes the Russians so lethal is their non-stop grinding of the opposition. It’s not that the French are not capable fighters, it’s just that they, in my humble opinion, don’t have nearly enough supporting assets to counter Russians relentless onslaught. That, coupled with the fact that if they’re caught they will be treated as mercenaries and probably killed on the spot, further accentuates the cauldron they will be facing. At the end of the day we will know what French fries will really look like after exposure to TOS munitions.
