US experimented with LRW hypersonic missile speeds since 1980s. No positive results were archived. China somehat ahead successfully accepted hypersonic missile as part of their armed force in 2020. Missile flight distance 1600km , Max speed Mach 8. Limited to low Mach 8 due to loss of control at higher speeds. Russia is clear leader and is armed with Avangard ICBM based, Kinzal/dagger air launched and Zircon ground/ship launched hypersonic missiles first mentioned by Putin back in 2018. Why no other country managed to develop anything close to Russian technology. It is all in state of art physics of new materials and exceptional scientific knowhow in propulsion technology. After multiple failures US has no plans to developed Russian Avangard hypersonic glider analog capable of Mach 28 speeds.

The U.S., the only country to ever have a manned Hypersonic aircraft at mach 6.7.(in 1967 the X-15) The first country to deploy hypersonic missiles in the late 1960's. Note all ICBM's reenter at hypersonic speeds exceeding mach 20. None if ruZZian or Chinese hypersonic missiles have been clocked beyond mach 7. Both are only hypersonic at boost phase after which they bleed of speed all the way to target. Deny it if you want. It's scientific facts of physics. If anyone says they have a highly maneuverable hypersonic missile, you know for a fact it's a lie. Material science refutes that. High G-forces rip regular aircraft apart at subsonic speeds when over maneuvering. Imagine G-forces 10× greater. Currently, the U.S. is the only country doing serious research of hypersonic weapons from launch all the way to target.
