Russian POW's confession: Ours were shooting at us 

They are an amazing culture with a history that is too astonishing to be believed. They are descended from the Scythians-- the first peoples of Ukraine. The people of the southwestern Steppe-- just as fearsome in battle as their eastern cousins the Huns or Mongols, but never aggressive or war-like, and not at all as oppressive towards women or lgbt people. When the land we now call Ukraime was first overrun by invaders from the east- the Huns, and to the west was the expanding brutality of the imperial Romans... they were forced to flee and scattered across all of central and northern Asia as well as Asia-minor/the'middle'East so that their descendants today bear many different names and have formed distinctive cultures stretching all the way from the Tigris and Euphrates (the Kurds) to Pacific coasts of Russia and China (Sakha, Tuvans, Yakutsk) and maybe even as far as Japan (where it is known that the city of O-Saka was secured in its early history by a group of fearsome nomads unequaled on horseback who were allowed to settle there...). The irony of them being used as cannon fodder to invade their own ancestral homeland by a creature like Putin... truly heartbreaking.

Same for me. And my bank account. I sent some money today. I give to make myself feel better, so it's selfish for my future self when I remember this time.

The ones that voluntarily surrenders, and not committed a single warcrime against Ukraine must get a fair chance to stay out of the war. I know there aren't much of them, but there are. Every Orc that gas committed a warcrime, must be centensed by law. And that also means the few Ukranians that committed warcrimes against the Orc's.

If there are Ukrainians who committed war crimes I'm sure it's a percentile compared to the ruZZian FSB, Orc-odox Death Cult.

No-- the really tragic irony is that they *are* Ukranian. In fact, they are descended from the earliest homosapiens to call Ukraine home-- the Scythians.

There's no irony in that at all, on different levels: this guy is more Asian than he is European, being a Yakut. Ukrainians and Russians are SLAVS... so they LOOK similar and linguistically, they're also similar. (I don't speak or understand Ukrainian or Russian; but I am told linguistically, they are very similar, as both claimed, historically, to have originate in or around modern day Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.... I've been watching the war for close to two years, & I still can't tell you, without seeing flag symbols, who is Russian or Ukrainian. But, for example, I do speak and understand Lao and Thai, and they are very similar... so unless you understand the two similar languages, you wouldn't be able to readily distinguish the one from the other, either, by just just hearing two people talking, in Lao and/or in Thai. I am thinking Russian and Ukrainian languages are like Lao and Thai...) Anyway, being a Russian by nationality, he speaks Russian, but, again, culturally, and racially, he is more different from both Ukrainians and Russians than the latter are from each other. In his homeland/province, he likely speaks the Yakut language or his parents & grandparents, for sure.

That is not surprising at all. This man is East Asian. Psychology refers to this as the cross-racial effect. I just wish guys like this Yskutian soldier could realize that Yakutians, Buryats, Tuvans, and all East Asian peoples stuck under The Kremlin's oppressive yoke need to become Allies with Ukrainians and fight the Kremlin together.

Yes, he is definitely Asian. He mentioned that he was from Yakutia, which would be the Republic of Sakha on the northern border of far eastern Russia. This is part of Putin's ethnic cleansing program. Use Ukrainian lives and NATO money to rid his Russian World of people who he does not count as being "ethnic Russian." Tragically for the Yakuta people, the area has oil, wealth that Putin wants to go to ethnic Russians.

Only Kalmykia and Buryatia people speak Mongolic dialects. Most of the rest are from the Turkic language family. Indigenous/Paleo people living prior to the Turkic expansion too.

@@agnelomascarenhas8990 This guy is Yakut! Yakuts, Tuvans, kazakhs, and Mongolians have very similar costumes! These people look alike, they may have different languages and religions, but physically they look alike and have similar costumes!

He could have been a victim of the mobilisation. A disproportionate amount of people from the ethnic minorities was drafted, especially in the republics.

He was simply surprised to find that the rot and corruption would affect him personally, so now he's flipped his story. While it's the right thing to do under the circumstances, let's not undo that with delusional self-gratification and wishful thinking.

I don't think humiliation was the intent. It's more like a friend of mine who is part Native American, but descended from those who the Spanish enslaved for 400 years. He's a staunch Catholic and I told him I think it is humiliating for him to have been forced to adopt the religion of his oppressors, those who murdered millions of his ancestors. Of course, he was born into it and brainwashed while too young to defend himself. He kind of sees my point and is questioning the Catholicism now. It frees you when you decide for yourself, but sometimes someone has to question it for you first. I also helped de-program a Muslim friend of mine and he is happy about all the discussions we had - but he wasn't at first!

I doubt that as well. This man looks East Asian, not Eastern Slavic like the actual Ethnic Russians indigenous to the actual Russia around Moscow
