Something is not clear here. From minute 4 until minute 13 the squad leader throw on the same trench and on a very short trench section of 3 meters long not less than 16 grenades and around one hundred bullets for... nobody there, no yells of pain at all. I saw too much fear on this squad and not a team work tactic.. Once your grenade opens the way at least two men could target that narrow point easily. Nobody could counterattack two grenades and two attackers inside a trench. I don't think those prisoners were at that point. It could be happen lately when the trench was secured those enemy soldiers would understant they had no chance to counterattack this ucranian squad. But this vid shows nothing about the so called surrenders.

In a situation like this a good old fashioned flame thrower would have probably got them out pretty quickly. I googled it tho and apparently they were banned by the Geneva Convention in 1980.
