Met a Russian while on vacation. He asked for my favorite music. I raised my armed over my head and sang YA RUSKIIIIIIII. He laughed hard and facepalmed 😂
The musicvideo from Shaman looks like an old TV-ad here in Germany for a yogurt that is supposed to stimulate digestion. He just has to sing "Activia" instead of "Ya russkiy" XD
LOL I just read on the german wikipedia page of Shaman that the song "Мой бой" translates to "Mein Kampf" in german. Adding the leather uniform and badge to it and it really seems like germany 1945 Oh the irony... xD
in russian the word бой means battle or fight, so the song name translates to “my fight” or “my battle”, not “my struggle” which is the english translation of “mein kampf”. in russian the word for struggle is борьба not бой.
Virgin Far-Right racist propaganda music from the Russian Federation VS. Chad Far-Left progressive anti-capitalist anti-imperialist music sung with the soul from the Soviet Union
In America we have professional wrestling. When the big companies cant sell enough tickets, they have workers go out to public areas like theme parks and theaters and give out tickets to the public to fill the empty seats so when it comes time to tape a tv show it looks like they sold out. The point im trying to make is, are you sure Shaman is really selling out concerts?
This is literally story about Polina Gagarina, she was very famos and top one female singer in Russia two or three years ago, but when she became Z she couldn't sell even half of the tickets for her big concert in Luzhniki.
For the rally concerts, like the large Putler rally in the Luzhniki, people are forced to go (by the risk of losing their jobs if they don't), but in the smaller towns, some just turn up, get registered and leave after 10 minutes. 😅 Even at the Luzhniki, which was on TV, you could see people leave and drop propaganda items on their way out.
@@revanofkorriban1505Unlike North Korea, Maduro can’t force the Venezuelans to go see it. Almost none of them would. Ha. The Venezuelan government sucks, but the people are actually pretty cool. They were repeatedly insulting Maduro, live on foreign television, during the lastest protests against him. Even though they knew there would be consequences.
fun fact: polina gagarina represented russia at the eurovision song contest in 2015 with a song called “a million voices”. pretty ironic considering some if the stuff that had transpired last year
That makes me feel sad, honestly. I mean, it was an obvious Russian government ploy to sing about world peace after 2014, but there was hope at least, she gave hope. Polina was never that bad, mostly politically neutral with her songs throughout her career and welcome in the Eurovision family, if the second place, international chart presence and Aminata later participating in Russian The Voice with Polina as her coach is any indication. Such a waste
This just goes to show how far Russia has fallen. From a respected full-fledged member of G8 all the way down to being China's vassal and provider of raw materials.
I used to love her, especially the way she did the song Kukushka. She also can sing in chinese which is awesome. I think in english too. She is really talented and has a really good powerful voice. It's a shame to see what she has become now
No really Shaman gone for that straight up SS officer vibe. It almost looks like he's trying to tell us something. Like that he's with the bad guys. :D
Russia couldn’t have asked for a better propagandist. She was photogenic (having blond hair and blue eyes helped) very sweet in interviews and a good enough singer to convince people that, despite the propaganda, she believed the message, so it was ok. Gagarina campaigned for Putin in 2018, so this isn’t new.
No shit, Sherlock. That's obviously what Roman references. But also, no, that's mostly Hollywood. It was part of dress uniform for the SS, and something civilians in the party wore for official events, but no-one in their right mind wore a bright red armband in battle. Also, the last thing the Gestapo, i.e. the "secret police", would do is wear *that* to make them it obvious who they were. They wore civilian clothes most of the time.
@@drsnova7313 chill the eff out Einstein with your history presentation, are you Roman's spokesperson that you need to vouch for him? lol Who says (except you of course) that they were using it or not in the battle? The SS officers were walking around the streets with it in major cities, front and center. Same Gestapo officers, only if they were sent to a house to arrest someone or in undercover operation then they were wearing plain clothes.
People should be allowed to be stupid on the internet as long as they aren't calling for violence If a person promotes the lack of freedom of speech, you shouldn't listen to them
The chaffing is a byproduct of the actual problem, try sitting bare ass on a leather couch. It's the amount of swamp ass and sticky balls that causes the chaffing, just salty sweat. Ew. Mixed with the heat of having those spotlights pointed at you (it's genuinely like standing under several heat lamps at the same time). Extra sweaty.
"all the good music got banned" name some. Lmao. I love when westerners act as if they know anything about russia and then pathetically embarass themselves.
Polina Gagarina were quite popular here in Sweden when she competed in the Eurovision during the middle of the 2010's. We used to have some songs with her on our playlist before, but not anymore 🌞
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD yeah, not every people had to get it due to poor economics, that's why phones had high priority for Gopniks and Hooligans, they were selling stolen phones in pawnshop for high price.
Russian Propaganda music was always not only politically bad, but downright cringe, from Buzova's cringe song about traitors to Shaman....just Shaman in general.
This is propaganda too since y’all are trying to make none Russian people look up and at Russian influencers or artists in a language they don’t speak x) I think the east is just far right in general no matter how Soviet their countries were
“Murrrica, phuuuck ya” Dad said that’s “the national anthem” when we saw Team America & up until my first day of school was my GO TO. Misses Coombs, bless her heart, first day full of new kids to swear loyalty to our Republic. Only to have the loudest, most obnoxious kid sing over everyone else with “AMERICAN, FUUUCK YEA!”
Hey Roman, Im happy that you seem to be safe and happy in Portugal, I want to move myself to spain in the next couple of years. But I followed all the stuff youve been through it feels good to see you finally (somehow) happy, even so I know family and stuff is still not easy man. You earned just like every human being to live in peace and work on your dreams. I'm really happy that this part is finally working for you
Yuri Shevchuk is my fav!!!!! (I saw him in a pic of the ones who are banned from playing in Russia). Hes seems like the kindest most down to earth artist ever!
I was lucky to be at his concert in Frankfurt this year. Yuri is such a wonderful, great and down-to-earth person. And it was great to hear the whole audience, about 2000 people, mostly Russians, yell: Нет войне! No to war!
It should be mentioned, that he supported russian army in the 90's, army that killed more than 300K people in Chechnya... This days he seems to be a good person, but he newer told something like "I supported wrong guys in the 90's"... russian army was the same as these days: in 1994, 2008, 2015... So yeah, he supported aggression and he should admit that
As a russian - some recommendations: Wildways - rock band, did amazing cover on MGK, fun song Put In, but sadly recently seems like they turned into sell out, their songs became more pop-rock and they deleted their Put In video. Таймсквер - rock/metal as well, a lot of good songs and also anti war. I'm happy I've seen them live and they are my favourite russian band/artist, check them out. Also I like Paul Udarov, Raizer, Fail Emotions, Matisse & Sadko, Aspyer, Stervell, appliexe, FILV, СЕГМЕНТЫ, Гарри Топор, Оксимирон. I mostly like rock and electronic music, but can give you more names based on genres.
Finnish singer Kari Tapio released a popular song called "Olen suomalainen" (=I am a Finn) in 1983. But it's not really about glorifying Finns, it's quite multi-dimensional and philosophical.
Funny that in my city (Dublin) Leps sold one of the biggest arenas in city back in 2017 or something(all the Latvian and Lithuanian vatniks love this shit :D ). Only 7 years later, how things have changed.
I saw Lyube live in Bulgaria in 2006 I think because they were my mum’s favourite band and I kinda grew up on their songs playing in the background even though I don’t speak Russian. After the war she’s now very anti Russian regime and only recently when I started learning Russian I realised how loaded a lot of their lyrics were 💀 catchy as hell though ngl

How can somebody be proud of censorship being put on artists just doing their work? If you find it propaganda BS, then just don't listen to it and let it die. As a matter of fact, only a weak and corrupted system will fell threaten by artistit and need to censor it...
People who comment, how it is ironically not free from West to ban russian Z artists don't understand, that these artists not only promote genocide of Ukranians, but also support regime, which bullies (not only) artists openly against war. If you think, this is against freedom or free speech, you are the type of person, who complains, when someone steps up against bully, or some violent person gets restraining against stalking their ex. PS: English is not my first language, so excuse me, if there are some mistakes in it.
A lot of Americans, unfortunately, think the First Amendment protects *all* forms of speech; it just prevents the *government* from censoring you, or retaliating against you for your speech.
@@eliseigo490Yeah your English is basically perfect there’s a couple spots where you ordered the sentence differently than a native English speaker would perhaps but it’s still technically correct grammatically and is perfectly understandable
"Through the myth it creates, propaganda imposes a complete range of intuitive knowledge, susceptible of only one interpretation, unique and one-sided, and precluding any divergence. This myth becomes so powerful that it invades every arena of consciousness, leaving no faculty or motivation intact. It stimulates in the individual a feeling of exclusiveness, and produces a biased attitude." - Jacques Ellul 🇫🇷
A government that is corrupt has no other choice but to limit freedom of expression, for it is only through censorship that it can maintain its grip on power. - Vaclav Havel
1:06… as a German I find his choice of style… interesting to say the least… I still don’t get it why they are trying so hard to look like legit og fascist. This is literally the meme „are we the baddies“.
I only recently found you and my guy, you have skyrocketed to one of my favorite RU-vidrs. Thank you for your openness and dedication to the truth regardless of what could happen because of it. You’re a badass, and I’m glad you’re living your best life. Much love from the southern U.S.! (I hate it here.) 🖤
The American Equivalent of Ya Ruski is probably Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The U.S.A." which was INESCAPABLE after 9/11. It's the second song on the tracklist in hell for me, right after Achy Breaky Heart.
@@shooterjenkins7089 It's incredibly funny whenever patriotic songs have lyrics like that because red, white and blue is literally the most common color scheme for national flags so you could be talking about at least a few dozen flags. I guess it makes the song easy to export.
@@shooterjenkins7089 Really 9/11 was the moment country as a genre lost what little integrity it had left to lose. The attempts made at rehabbing country with groups like the Dixie Chicks and Johnny Cash's final albums were buried in a sea of star-spangled children's songs for angry Boomers.
Am I the only one who thinks that @5:55 he looks a look like a shaven Anders Behring Breivik with longer scalp hair? Either way the no-no-German comparison fits.
Yes. There's an amazing Soviet song by Muslim Magomaev called: "The Bukhenvald alarm bell". It's about importance of peace and preservance and cherishing of world peace. About Holocaust and Great Patriotic War victims...
Ok russian troll. I 5:34 am not Ukrainian I am Swedish so no I have not been to the front but all the weapon our government has sent is there to stop the invasion and they do it with support from the people.
People in Russia are called in Russian, as "россияне" pertaining to the county not "русские" which is ethnic background of which there are probably over two hundred in the entire territorial Russia proper. All of the 140 million people in Russia are "россияне" but "русские" are an white major but still a minority of the entire population of Russia. When I lived in Russia over thirty years ago, people identified more by their own ethnic background rather than as being proud of their country of Russia. Soviet was more of an identity than a Russian as pertaining to the county. People were slaves of the Communist state rather than proud citizens of the the mother Russia. We learned and quickly forget the Mayakovski poem about carrying the Soviet passport with pride. It was just a rhetoric. And everyone knew that Mayakovski didn't end well. The revolution swallowed him. 😊
6:12 OMG... They must realize... It must be a parody... I mean seriously, that is so Germany 1937... They have to realize, they can't be this unaware, lack of self-awareness... I mean seriously
Hey Roman have you ever heard of the Russian Punk Rock band "Pornofilmy"? (interesting name ik). They're anti Z and their music is an gem in the rough. I'm someone who has also immigrated away from Russia thanks to a certain Putin and their music really resonates with me, you should check em out
Oh thank god, I like them. As someone who is learning but not yet fluent in Russian, I really wasn't quite sure just from listening, but this is a relief.
I was just chatting with my friends in discord and the only non-classical music any of us have ever heard from russia was by the band TATU... oh, the irony.
Bro there’s so much good music from Russia- not sure what your music taste is like but there’s a lot of cool post-punk/synth-pop stuff in addition to rock bands like DDT, Kino, Sektor Gaza etc. I’m a big fan of Peremotka, Sova (Сова), Electroforez, and Buerak, all of whom are (to my knowledge) either politically neutral or anti-Z. I think Zemfira is pretty popular too
So he’s representing the very same people the Soviet Union fought against in WWII? The victim becomes the bully I guess, makes sense… Russia needs therapy.
Imo it is good when they think that they have dodged the bullet.... and then surpriz, they get fkd. If you ban everything at once, some time goes by and they forget.
I would suggest that. Oleg G should sing. 'Back in the USSR' but it seems he doesn't realise it ever went away. Shaman better be careful, he doesn't look like he really fits in with Putin's macho man style.
Does Shaman know about Sham-Wow? Wait...does RUSSIA know about Sham-Wow, or is the market wide open??? Did I just stumble on millions of dollars, low-key?
this really shows how unfree western media sites like youtube and facebook really is. the fact that it is a bit better than russian and china media sites, but still quite unfree
I'd like to learn Russian (because as a nurse I get a lot of Ukrainian and Russian patients), so do you guys have any recommendations for Russian-speaking music, podcasts, youtubers, streamers (preferably gaming) etc., or other learning material that is progressive and not pro-war lol? No links pls I'm paranoid, just names so I can search them up! :)
