So the family put their valuables in their clothes which would prevent the guards from touching and getting their stuff. 4. I can't stress enough how vile some of the guards were. Seriously don't look up Peter Ermakov's Wikipedia page, it's just gross and morbid. 5. Most would-be dictators are usually men who had their personalities stunted by their parents emasculating and berating them. It's also one of the reasons Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin changed their names. They were all made to feel terrible when they were young and living in squalor, so they were able to rid/"cleanse" what caused that when they came to power. 6. Nobody knew where the bodies were for 61 years. It wasn’t some sort of state secret, no one had any idea since they were all under like thirteen feet of dirt. Plus, their discovery was random chance. 7. Stalin was basically a career criminal from the time he left seminary to getting actively involved with the Soviet higher-ups. He was largely a bank robber and gun-toting thug who stole money and used pyrotechnics to finance the party. Not much nobility there... 8. Trotsky ended up gaining a small cult following while in the Western hemisphere, occasionally getting admirers from Mexico and America to visit him. Also his lady friend Frida Kahlo, famous Mexican artist, was a red. 9. Many people believe Nicholas' last words were "What? What?" ("Chto? Chto?") Which was in response to hearing the death notice. However the "You know not what you do" came right after, having seen their guns drawn.
