This week Charlamagne and Andrew Schulz were joined by Steelo Brim, one of the co- host of ridiculousness, who has recently embarked on his musical journey. His forthcoming project (dropping 3/17) - Eldorado Excursions. During the episode they give their raw, debatable opinions on a few trending topics, starting with the unfortunate, prejudice incident of Black Panther director Ryan Coogler falsely detained as a bank robber. In the mist of the debate, they randomly find out about what Oprah Winfrey’s husband does for a living, than what Charlamagne really thought he did. Afterwards patriotic Schulz was back when they spoke about Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Lastly, they get into some “Ask an Idiot” questions.

I really hate when Charlemagne acts oblivious too shit. He knows damn well nobody is mad about her saying work hard. It’s about how out of touch celebrities be with real life and real people… It’s just like when the stay at home mandate was in effect and celebrities like Ellen were complaining about being bored and tired of staying in the house when they living in 10 bedroom mansions while it’s people living 4 in a small ass apartment.

It's like saying someone who lost significant other "Get over it". I mean that's a realest thing to say - you have to get over it, but it's not your place and time to say. Everyone can be bored but when majority of the world is sitting in 40 square meter flats and have to pray that their companies will not fire them because of the pandemic you as a celebrity with so much cash and tools to still prosper and fave fun complaining that you are bored is just asking for a backlash.

I'm sorry but steelo is the only one who made any sense in that first discussion about Kim. How long have you been rich that you forget about the system in place that keeps the poor poor regardless of how hard they work. People don't have the money or time to invest in different career paths. Props to him for being the voice of reason, nothing against Kim but I don't want to hear her telling us to work hard when she has never been in our shoes. Especially as a minority.

Love Steelo Brim giving the right perspective on the Kim K comments. It's about her literally saying get your ass up and work like people aren't out here busting their asses daily. Nah but youre not acknowledging that she was asked about how can women be successful. She's not talking for herself, it's clear she was asked a question and giving her perspective. And her having a head start is really credit to her dad who became successful after getting two degrees and making a name for himself. I totally agree with CTG, because a lot of people are adding their own feelings behind her answer to a question. She was giving her advice to women in business, because she's a woman in business. She has successful businesses, she knows that you have to work hard and love where you work and love what you do. She has employees that she probably sees aren't working hard. She never said if you want to be me do this, and she never said this is how I became successful.

“Lots of people make sex tapes that aren’t billionaires” doesn’t support that Kim works hard, it proves the exact point Steelo and any rational person is making. She made millions and became a household name off a sex tape. That only happened because her parents were rich and famous and she was dating another celebrity. Sure she did a lot with her fame, but don’t pretend it’s purely work ethic. Lots of poor people work hard but aren’t in a situation where their hard work turns into billions of dollars.

But let's stay conventional and say you give your kid tutoring and private school through their developmental years and pay for your kids college tuition and give them the financial freedom of a safety net to take the time to choose their career path and they take advantage of all that and become successful would you not think it weird for your kid to publicly say people just need to work hard without acknowledging how helpful it was for their success to have parents who were able to reduce the friction of a normal life. She absolutely should be proud of and speak about the hard work she has put in to turn good into great... But also acknowledge in the statement that her path was made tremendously easier by the benefits her parents provided. She should really be speaking to parents to encourage them to do what they can to put their kids in the best position to maximize their talents. This would acknowledge that very few people make it from the bottom 30% to the top in one generation without a privilege (beauty, athleticism), but it's way more likely your kids will if you put your energy into getting out of the bottom 30% into solid middle or upper class so your kids can follow there dreams

How Charla can ignore the famous parents, riches, proximity to celebrities, sex tape etc and how they factor in to her success. But the point that you’re speak on is different, and even though it’s correct, it’s not the point of why Kim said what she said. She was speaking on how to maintain success. Whether it was for someone who had 1 million in the bank or someone who wants to qualify for a loan in the bank. The same could literally said for the white and black example. If a successful white person tells black people yall just need to get up and work. The 1st million is the hardest to get and that is based on the opinions of anyone who has ever earned their first million. So the fact that she already had that as a resource and never had to worry about just working for survival has everything to do with the message. She got to just enjoy life, party, enjoy all the luxuries before she woke up one day and started working "hard". you know what that would do to the normal person. That would put them in millions of debt waaaaay before they got to start their journey of "work hard" so it has everything to do with the message.
