S-400 has a huge warhead payload, my guess is if a huge S-400 interceptor hits a small target like the StormShadow, the later should be totaly disintegretatred .
The photos of the storm shadows indicate lightly damaged missiles. Hence I suggest hits by a SPAAG or s near miss and proximity fuse destination on a small missile like Pantsir. If it’s a S400 it’s accuracy was poor.
huge warhead doesnt always blow up its target. its its to insured if its near miss the chance of the blast radius or fragments hits the target and down it. most top notch SAM has its radar on the missiles. the HQ give it location area and the missiles radar activated and home on it. what makes a good SAM its it radar. the west has a network of integrated tracking system. this is why there's so much warship in the ocean and not much on land. the warship provide global air defense in the case of ICBM and ballistic. to even be more prepared the west would seek the SAM site and destroy it before they send jets and what not. if you fight smart you win with the equipment you have. the best strategies is having the best of everything and not rely on certain group.
I would completely agree. However, hitting one missile with another missile is a very complicated thing to do. It is my understanding (and this is not my field of expertise as I was an AH-64 pilot and did not operate ADA) that the goal is not to hit the the incoming missile but to detonate in the vicinity of the incoming missile. If this were the case it is entirely possible for only light damage to the Storm Shadow by shrapnel from the explosion.
These missiles are not intercepted by S-400 but with their help, which mean that radars of S-400 are used, but not their missiles. Pantsir S1 is what intercepting Storm Shadow by missiles while using S-400s radars. Same systems that were able to intercept large barrages of GMLRS-30 with 12 missiles (2 armed M142 vehicles firing at once). There are multiple video evidences of this process. Easy to find as well.
@@patriktoth6258 Let's see.. To start with: S-400 and Pantsir S1 missile system can be integrated into a two-layer echeloned defense system. In this case Pantsir-S1 will use S-400 radar to track threats way beyond it's fire range. Since threat will be recognized early, crew can calculate and make additional preparations for adequate response. They can request additional firepower from other formations nearby. Early detection gives such advantage and will increase it's effectiveness overall. Pantsir-S1 was designed against such threats as helicopters, aircraft, HARM, UAV (that's what 30mm cannons are for) and finally ALCM munition on minimal height about 5 meters or so, which is precisely what Storm Shadow stands for after all. Air launched cruise missile. For that it is armed with one of the best missiles in the world with staggering 70% kill rate. Which is why by design each target will be attacked by two missile salvos. The only thing against which Pantsir S1 isn't effective enough (on paper) - are tactical ballistic missiles. But then again, Pantsir S-1 was used during early stages of war against Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile with cluster munition used by Ukraine. And the reason why we haven't heard about Tochka-U since last year - this weapon has practically extinct. Literally. It's safe to say now, that in same part of world that deem to be allies of Ukraine - there are no Tochka-U left "alive". They gave everything they had to Ukraine, even parts for cannibalization were sent. To end with: It's not a "wunderwaffe" by any means, just a very smart design and implementation of unique concept on a serial model. Especially when used in a two layer echeloned defense system with S-400 radars. Extremely effective at designated role. NATO is the reason why they learned how to maximize it's effectiveness to the point when people like you are asking "How?". In fact they didn't actually knew or had any clue on how effective it would be against MLRS, but NATO forced them to learn that it is capable of intercepting them as well. This fact was surprise to them as much as it was shock for NATO. You can find videos of Pantsir S1 intercepting GMLRS-30 salvos. NATO is working hard on creating a monster. It's never a good idea to downplay effective weapons for propaganda. Hope that clarifies it.

Thank you for an honest assessment that takes some bravery to print. This war can’t be reported on that everything Ukraine does is successful and Russia always fails. While there is no excuse imho for the Russian invasion, I do believe we deserve honest reporting of what’s actually happening in this war.
Yes, and overestimating and presenting even minor advances or victories of the ucrainian side doesn't do much good in the long run... hence the spring/summer/autumn offensive dissapointment.
Russia did not invade..but was begged by 17 official Ukrainian delegations to Moscow, to come in and protect the local populations against genocide. Don't you know the history of this conflict?? Read up on it from respected independent sources. One can't Invade by Invitation of the population. That's clear in all proper international law. Only the western propaganda reads international law, by selective approach.
Следующий ход наш, и мы напичкаем Мексику своим оружием и разожжём войну уже на вашей территории, Вашингтон будет долго гореть, и только он, так как простые люди ничего плохого нам не сделали.
One VS. 40 plus. I must say Ruski not only fighting real enemy but also 40 plus countries at the same time and they have truly impressive arsenals of weaponry that outclass the collective West
The West has given Ukraine largely obsolete weaponry, and yet Ukraine continues to hold their ground with "mighty" Russia! Lol Your nation is a shadow of its former self... China is the great rival to America now.
Thanks for the "wishful thinking", chicken-hawk propaganda. Reality on the battle-front is far different; Ukraine (despite the bravery of its soldiers) has so far proved utterly incapable of successfully staging an effective counter-offensive, and its forces are being slowly degraded in an unwinnable war of attrition against the much larger and better-supplied Russian army (which certainly does have its own shortcomings... though these are vastly exaggerated in the rabidly pro-Ukraine, Western mainstream media). "Send in the kitties!" screamed the pro-Ukraine propagandists. So they did. You can expect to see a lot of Leopard 2 tanks on display in Moscow, real soon now.
Soon they will have an even better system than S-400M, with all things they are learning... And the USA has that pathetic Patriot system that is useless.
There is no doubt, the S-400 is a fantastic weapon and highly accurate, that said, like the patriot, it is very expensive, and those targets are fun to go after because you remove one and there goes a lot of money up in smoke. In he arms race, once someone has an effective weapon, the other side goes to work to defeat it. It goes on and on.
The S-400 uses 6 types of missiles, from large with a large warhead to small with a small warhead. In the same way, the corresponding price is small racket small cost, big racket big cost.
@@bazz6490ahaha I checked and it's exacy the number of downed stormshadows CLAIMED by Russia. Cope yourself. Everyone is exaggerating. I only believe verified and photographed kills. Russia only has less than 10.

What a dumb comment, Of course NATO will survive. In fact if NATO were involved the war would be over already with millions of deaths but the side left standing. Obviously rus can't fire at them since it will cause diplomatic issues (rus and isr relationship is relatively warm/not enemies), just as isarles will not fire at rus equipment/military compound.

Yes. And other videos show the s400 isn't worth a crap. I dont know who is right but I do know there's 2 sides to any story. We also have learned that most russian gear isn't living up to the hype.
I never heard from any media even the Western ones that any of the Russian defense systems is performing badly in this war. I heard the opposite. I am not on Russia's side but there are facts.
Anybody can make wise guy quips from behind their computer based on half-digested and sometimes inaccurate information Guess any NATO country can take on Russia on its own, then? Why are we seeing that?
That's a new one on me, and first to hear on this channel that the British Storm Shadow has not operated as intended since being shipped to Ukraine. In fact, I heard a number of strategic Russian targets have been destroyed by the Storm Shadow, along with a Russian General (which I'm pretty sure Russian Troops cheered quite enthusiastically when they got the news) :)
I mean if you are only in the main-stream media you obviously won't know that. The Storm Shadow was shot down a lot more than it actually impacted the battlefield. It's the same with all the NATO equipment they got, none proofed to be a deciding factor or even better than what the russians already have deployed. That's also why the Ukrainian offensive was so miserable that even the allies are now very careful about ukrainians perspective.
Everybody in the world has experienced economic hardship as a result of this war, but the greater problem is that it might have been avoided had Ukraine stayed neutral and had Russia maintained its policy towards Western nations. They are currently experiencing loss of everything as a result of siding with America. Their acts, acting like donkeys, demonstrate their lack of intelligence. They serve as examples, much like Zelenski, who has demonstrated this personally.🙄🙄
Why does any sovereign nation have to do anything at the beak and call of another nation? Ukraine as a sovereign nation has every right and obviously the need to belong to a defensive alliance. Russia and only Russia is responsible for their aggression. That same logic would have given the US the right to nuke The Soviet Union into the Stone Age after WW2.
@@grojunge2449 No, most people in Europe have the same opinion. The USA used Ukraine and started this calamity for its selfish goals, for world dominance, weakening Russia because the USA hates that there is a country that can say "no" to them and can even destroy that country, to make an enemy for NATO because without an enemy NATO has no reason to exist, to weaken Europe, to cut economic ties that Europe had with its natural geographic economic ally, Russia, and to export the thing which they always were exporting... war and misery.
In april 2022, Ukraine had a peace deal with Russia, but the US sent Boris Johnson to veto the idea. The Ukrainian leadership is totally controlled by the CIA. It's Ukraine's job to fight to the end, fight to the last Ukrainian. The CIA will not allow the war to end until that happens. Ukrainian men are dodging the draft as if their lives depended on it. After being drafted, they face execution if they desert. Ukrainian leaders are skimming a lot of the aid sent, the CIA knows about it and feels it's necessary to make folks like Zelensky and Zeluzhnia bilionairs so that they will sacrifice 100's of 1000's of Ukrainian lives to fight Russia. These are dumb donkeys, they know what they are doing and they do it anyway. The US invasion of Iraq resulted in the eventual deaths of 1 miliion Iraqi civilians. The NEOCONS couldn't care less.
The figure of downed storm shadow as mentioned is not reliable. S400 had a huge explosive payload that will make storm shadow split into a very small fragment in addition to the storm shadow explosive payload that can be triggered during interception
A huge payload is so that when the missile misses the target, the explosion and fragments can hit the missiles. So S -400 can down-storm shadow missiles without leaving small fragments of StormS shadow part.
This is nothing new, so don't get upset, when one side comes up with an advanced weapon, the other side works hard to figure out how to defeat it. It's called - the Arms Race.
Adding to the point made below, many times Russia has lied about their understanding of any of our tech. It’s pretty safe to say they didn’t get much from this(if they actually decided to study it) which takes a lot of resources that could have been used. Running a supply train backwards isn’t as easy as forwards.
Russians also claimed to have shot down 75+ Ukrainian Sukhoi 25 attack planes. Ukraine only ever had about two dozen of the out of production Soviet warplanes. Cruise missiles like Storm Shadow are extremely difficult to intercept. Cruiser Moskva was defended by the naval version of the S 300, the S 300’s predecessor. Two hits from prototype Neptune missiles from Ukraine, and Moskva was converted into a submarine. Ukraine continues to use Storm Shadow to target Black Sea ports of Mariupol, Melitopol, and Berdiyansk, with great success. Israel routinely flies strike missions over Syrian targets, protected by S 400 with impunity, even using elderly F 16s. Believe the Russian hype if you like, at your own peril.
Russians had one storm shadow, one. The one that malfunctioned and crashed. Now they are driving it around photographing it and people actually believe they've shot them down all over the place? No. The minute this dude said that Russian shot down 29 should have been a clue.
The pic of the Storm Shadow is definitely real- but it doesn't look like the victim of a SAM. The wings and fuselage re un-perforated- which isn't what you'd see if an S-400 did the damage. There would be little holes everywhere. I call BS on the '29' shootdowns too. If the Russians really had shot down 29, they'd claim 59.
What a load of bullshit. The Storm Shadow pictured has zero frag damage and was actually just a failure. Everyone has seen the videos of the katsaps trying to shoot down SS. Quite simply, they can't.
😁😁😁I know Russian may have some STORM SHADOW missiles. But I wonder how did Ukrainian destroy Russian heavily guarded Black Sea Fleet Headquarter, killed 34 Russian soldiers including their top general? Ukraine also managed to destroy S300 and S400 🤩🤩🤩!
Can you define the massive explosions and their location? Well, the British always love to boast about their weapons after using it to terrorize poor Afghans and Iraqi teenagers. Now the entire NATO weaponry has been exposed as useless in Ukraine.
S400 is airburst interceptor not a collision/impact interceptor. The fragment of airburst that hits the right spot is enough to cause missile/aircraft to be downed. Missiles like this will explode close to the target, not hit it directly. So a downed missile with low damage on it is not strange, although a bit rare.
@@sid35gb true, depends on the distance and the surface area of the target. The farther it is the more spread out the damage of the pellets, and the less damage it will take.
Keeps killing? They only got one since it was supplied. Also 3.16 million for a general? What a waste of money. It was meant to hit a high value target like an enemy defense compound or ammo dump. This is wasteful

Yeah, I'm not seeing the S-400 performing as well as this Russian marketing channel suggests. There are a number of Russian officers and personnel, together with a _lot_ of occupying Russian material and infrastructure that has simply ceased to exist because S-400 hasn't performed as well as Russia claims.
I really wonder what happened to the on system on krim that blew up recently. Hope that it was some kind of technical malfunction, otherwise pretty much every S-400 system and crew would be vulerable. That would be a bummer...
Why has the railway line to Kiev been operating without problems so far? Russia acts as if counting on the mercy of the Banderites and their sponsors. Why do ports still operate there under the management of Bandera Nazis?
Combo; Saturation of cheaper decoy drones, drones used to identify for HARM missiles, and stealth delivery of weapons from the F35 and missiles would be possible to overwhelm the s400. Tech will get better for terrain guidance and maneuverability. Dip inside the max threat range and force the launch from the s400 and then back out makes for a wasted shot. Allowing threats to get closer will create a better chance of being destroyed, hence s400 IMO will use max distance protection and launch, counter-punch can be as mentioned.

The development of S-400 system is helped by some western technology. Russia and South Korea has worked together to develop their own anti-air missile system. Russia exceled in rocket and missile system, but fell behind in software and integration of whole system. A Korean defense company (subsidiary of LG Electronics) cooperated to help out Russians in development of S-400. In exchange of Russian anti-air missile technology and Korean software/networked system integration technology of western origin. Both got what they wanted. Russia got S-400 and few years after, Korea got KM-SAM Cheongung, which is based on technology of S-400. So they looks very similar like twin boys
