Hi Russel! Thanks for new video. I live in Russia for 14 years. "Perekrestok" and "pyatorachka" are very typical in Moscow and Russia. I like that we have a lot of sanctions products in these shops and a lot of products from our country. Have a nice day)
Don't forget there new brand Chizik, which is from the same company. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kKBTS1K367s.html The Perekrestok stores are always well stocked with a range of imported items.
This store looks really beautiful. I like how they arrange their fruits, vegetables and berries. And the shelves in other sections are well presented. That fresh fish counter looks especially luxurious. You do not get anything like this in most London supermarkets. and Forget about 24x7 this level of service simply doesn't exist in London. I love that Italian "Chino" drink. I first tried when I was in Venice and tried desperately to find it in London for years, but you just cannot get anything like that in London even if you try really hard. I am so surprised to see specialty Italian beverage in a local suburban shop in Russia. Amazing!
Good Lakk. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4QNo0FYWSD0.html
Russell. pick that Italian drink called "Chino". It is a very cool designer drink from Italy. It is made from a special variety of bitter citrus fruit which only grows locally in Italy. You will love it. It is a really tasty alternative to coke. And you are so spoiled there in Russia - you have such speciality luxury beverages on shelves in local food shop. I have been looking for it in London for years. You cannot get it in London even for big money.
When i was in primary school back in Australia, I remember k-mart and one local variety store had a cafe inside. But they very quickly got removed and closed down. They never made money, they cost too much in labor to keep open.
@@TravellingwithRussell This is incredible. We are talking 10 times price difference. I bought a box of posh Macaroons yesterday for £12 in Canary Wharf, London. My box was no bigger than this item on display in your shop.
@@TravellingwithRussell You should get those Macaroons for your wife! She will love you for it. And at such price - you can get 5 boxes and you will still pay less than I paid in London for 1 box. LOL
@@NewAlbionTVwere I buy macarons I pay 16 euros for a box of 16 (it's a private backery). It's considered more or less expensive). Although honestly in my heart nothing comes near Laduree😂.
@@TravellingwithRussell Oh, you will absolutely LOVE it. Yes it is from San Pellegrino, and this brand does have presence in the UK but in the UK their range is limited to carbonated water and some other generic drinks. No "Chino" in London. And Chino is the most Italian most amazing drink as it is made from a special fruit which you can only find in that part of Italy.
I like everything I see. However, I don't see much friendliness in the faces of the Russian people. Apprehensive maybe. Can't blame them. Everything always looks so clean and organized. Pride shows. No one looks like a circus clown either.
People are friendly here in Russia. It's down to getting to know people. Once your past that stage, everyone is great. Even the guy working in this store by the exit, he looked after the wine section. had a nice chat to him about how good that section looked.
Well, people are just minding their own business. They are occupied with themselves. Just living pretty normal life. They came not to socialize or make friends, just for shopping. Still, people will stay polite and civil.
There is no “small talk” culture in Russia. People also don't smile at strangers and generally look rather sullen. But if a Russian smiles at you, these are sincere emotions, without falsehood
Where I live in the US on the west coast 24 hour grocery stores stopped being a thing after the Rona. Even then it was just open 24 hours. No cafe etc.
My wife is the main one going shopping. She goes once, sometimes twice per day. Buying only meals for 1 or 2 days. This is one of the food markets we go to. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-akCdWSzsFWE.html
I have watched people travel to different places in Russia: Arkhangelsk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Yakutsk, (for a few) and have seen no evidence of "shortages" anywhere. Yet I could not buy apple cider at my grocery store (they were out) - and this is apple season!
Interesting, there’s no more 24 hour stores in my area anymore. If I could film in the store, in which is prohibited, then you would see empty spaces on the shelves, and outrageous prices. Moreover, the stores aren’t clean and bright either. Exactly, what country is being affected by sanctions? Certainly, it’s not Russia. Thanks for the tour.
For the purposes of my Shared Visa application interview, what are “Russian values”? And for the Russian viewers, what do you think, what are you told, that “Western values” are? Thanks 😊
There’s no doubt that grocery stores in Russia are nice and well-stocked. A lot of the products available are produced in Russia, so it’s natural that they have a wide selection of goods. At the same time, it’s interesting to see how imported products are still available despite the sanctions that have been imposed. This shows that some countries have a more relaxed approach to the sanctions, but it must be logistically challenging to get these products into the country.
There is no food sanction on Russia. Not one. The Russia policy just makes the food in Russia really expensive and dairy products are ridiculously expensive.

Will you please stop the Sanction Bit. Everyone knows already that you have American products there. We American citizens are fully aware of that. Enjoy your videos but enough already. Just show stores and quit making your channel political. Thankyou.
I will change out the title after a few days of views. This is simply a supermarket review. Nothing more, nothing less. But again in the comments people like to think its more than just that.
