As far as I could tell the young guy was dating the mobster's daughter, he obviously ends up dead, then his sister (or mother?) who is a private investigator, breaks in disguised as a guy, plants evidence, then gets hired by the mobster to investigate, tricks him in to killing his own daughter, then phones the cops on him. I think the car scene at the end is just a weird flashback. I think it didnt help the Funhaus crew kept mixing up the investigator and the daughter, even though they were clearly different people.
