I wish we were still friends.. Or at least, on this level where they could visit us, we could visit them. I remember years ago when a Russian training tall ship ported in my old town of San Pedro, we saw Russian sailors around town. They were very courteous, and very Polite.
Tried to get a tour of Varyag but the lines were literally 1/2 mile long both days. 1st time a Russian warship had visited San Francisco since the Gold Rush. I hope she comes back to San Francisco again soon.

Yea, a battleship also pulled up in Notfolk a couple of years ago. They were conducting joint naval exercises with the US, U.K., France, and I think Germany(?).
