April Fools or not, I think we can all agree it was high time Danny did a video on the Cars franchise.

I remember watching the Piston Cup from about 2005-2012. Seeing McQueen win all those championships fuelled me.

First win at Glen Ellen (Watkins Glen in real life). Sound a lot like a certain cup series driver and champion.

Don’t forget, Lightning McQueen blew an over half a lap lead to lose the Piston Cup. In all seriousness, Nice video Danny.

Just now realized that Cars had a “Big 3” dynamic

I've loved the Cars movie since my childhood, Motor Speedway of the South is referencing Bristol Motor Speedway and Los Angeles International Speedway is referencing the Los Angeles Coliseum. Nascar drivers have always appeared in that movie, also Chick Hicks' attitude is compared a lot with Kyle Busch in real life (that's why Mattel is going to put him out in a diecast). Always that Rusteze McQueen's sponsorship is a reference to Lowe's where Jimmie Johnson won 7 NCS championships. Happy April Fools guys!!!!

Can we acknowledge that us adult NASCAR fans are all insane and we all love McQueen a little to much.

This absolutely made my day. Joke or not, this was an absolute blast to watch. I personally also have McQueen win his first Title in 2006 which was seen in Cars: The Video Game (Which takes place 1 year after the movie which as you and others say, takes place in 2005). And McQueen's other titles were also identical to my eyes. As for the Cars 3 era. I have Ramirez win the 2017 Title, followed by 2018 and 2021. Assuming the characters from the NASCAR crossover diecast series is canon, then racers like William Byrev and Aric Almiroling would debut in 2021 which means, GoGo Logano, and Rowdy Revvin Busch didn't win their titles at the same time as their real life counterparts. I still have Storm as a two time champion (2016 and 2019). I still have Chase Racelott be the 2020 Piston Cup champion like in reality though.

Very well made video! Two goofs though: 1. The Rusteze Racer before McQueen was not Bobby Roadtesta (as he sponsored Carbon Cyber from 2008?-2016). 2. The #8 in the 2005 season was named (and voiced by) Dale *Earn*hardt Jr.

While I was a bit older when McQueen became to be, I couldn't help but root for the kid. Maturity done a lot of good for him. Always rooting for his team, and can't help but follow the career of that 51 Dinoco. Now just whatever happened to that wacky racers series? Odd race cars, and some dirty tricks but they were within the rules. That Penelope Pitstop had to be an inspiration for Ramirez. 😉

Giving Hicks the cup was the only real choice. While his move was extremely dangerous, it was legal. Weathers did not cross under his own power meaning it could not be recognized, and McQueen's actions were reckless and conflicts with rules about points manipulation, the same rules that were behind Flint Boiler's season-ending penalty in 2013. Hicks was the only real choice. The sad part is Calvin Weathers. He got so screwed by how things played out. No doubt he could have kept being competitive had he just stayed in it for a while longer. Even while the next gen buzz was ongoing, he was still regularly getting Top 10s and podiums. He always seemed like he was racing in the King's shadow, and I imagine that MUST have really spurred his sudden retirement decision. At minimum he could have shared the second entry with McQueen and ran the season together. I know Cal wanted out, but losing out of nowhere like that just made it feel like he rushed it when he was at an emotional low point.

Only when I finished the video did I realize how invested I was

honestly I think McQueen was snubbed of his 8th piston cup really am disappointed that the officials let a driver win the cup without participating in every race that season but not surprised after chick hicks won it when he should've been black flagged
