I have a detailed video of my cave base design coming up. I got 6 levels, and used stacked filler blocks for extra raid protection. Defense occurs inside of a battle chamber inside instead of out front, as most people raid while you're not around. Towers around the cave are for defense to shoot the backs of people who would poke around the base looking for weaknesses. In cave based, triangles are your friend.
Great video but doesn't seem to work now with the new Caves design. It would be awesome if you could make an update of this video but with the new caves ;-)
Two things I didn't address in this video: 1.) Wall off the hole in the side of the cave 2.) At each level, create a wall that goes from one side of the cave to the other with a doorway.
Ser Winter how i can remove walls and ohter things when i miss clki or wanna make more rooms so i have to do delete roof but it takes like 1h i dont now so what that key is
Jonsku Ponsku some servers you can use the command /remove and then hit something, and another tip is dont upgrade untill you know that is how you want to have it ;)

Why is it so hard to place the foundations in the cave? For me I always have to use triangle foundations because the regular ones wont work, and even then its hard to place the triangle foundations and stair foundations. I can never get it like it is shown in the video.
i think that eventually should the game engine support it that they allow us to dig down into the ground, destructable ground enviroments would allow for interesting raids because of the fact you could create a huge maze of tunnels to throw off raiders or to hide loot in and while i don't expect this to be something easy to do given the current state of rust i do think that it would be an amazing game feature to have as opposed to pre-generated caves.
Maybe they updated the game since then, but there are still certain areas where i cant build, it wont let me place them, even if i copy yours Like i can see at certain spots its really high of the ground yet it still seems to let you.
MegaChokolade Agreed, no security was thought about in this design. It's really very straight forward, I think anyone could of done this with little to no thought.
I couldn't get through your video because the music was AWFUL! Too bad, i'm sure had some good tips in it… Please use something completely different in the future!
