As a player with 1200+ hours this guide is excellent! I recommend this to any new player or player that feels they are lacking in their foundations of Rust! I'm honestly shocked that someone made a video of such high quality for new Rust players. CM Gaming is where it's at apparently!

The way I play, I'd say is to first get a stone hatchet and bow, then run along the road to collect my "essential" blueprints FIRST: Metal Hatchet, Large Box, Medical Syringe, and, if possible, Wooden Armour, Large Furnace, and the Metal Pickaxe. You can also collect empty cans now to melt in refineries/campfires to get Metal Frags without a furnace. I never use normal locks, and always go straight for code locks.

First thing you should craft is a sleeping bag...place it in a bush near where you want to build. This keeps you from respawning on the other side of the map when you inevitably die. Second never build a base without a fucking air lock! That's two doors you enter before you go into your base. Always put your loot in a suicide room and spread it around your base, Thats a room walled off with a sleeping bag inside, place a box near a wall so it sticks through the other side to transfer loot between the two sides(Make sure to destroy this box when you log out) And always have the loot high up in your base. Also be sure to make the access to the higher parts o your base only available if you have building privs(ie non permanent stairs you build every time you need to go up). This prevents raiders from getting to your loot easily and forces them to turn away in disgust/only get one loot room in a raid. Honey combing is also very nice as well as fake doors to nowhere.

When you have a key lock, never go outside, make sure you have 600 wood spare and 100 ore to get your code lock, then DON'T log off until you have a sheet door :)

Did you do the video some time ago? Pump jacks are not in the game anymore, and no oil can be pumped in the desert. Also the rad towns, these were replaced by the new dungeons.

wait so if the sheet metal AND stone take 2x c4 and 4x rockets what is the difference? is it just that u cant tool thru sheet metal?

Why is the used version of rust so old in the video? I mean some of the monuments you showed don't even exist anymore and also pumpjacks are not craftable anymore -> the location where biomes meet is irrelevant. Otherwise seems like a good video to watch for new players

why do u need an ak BP when u are starting out?even if u have it then it would be a very bad idea to run out with ak-s because theyre cost is very high for a starting player. i would rate this guide 3/5, because it was very minimal

and that's why i always upgrade to stone, less expensive than metal, just as good and 100x better looking
