Just a quick one this week. I'm extending the rustic log guardrail/barrier on the side of the main driveway into the property. Switching from the excellent but expensive TimberLok screws to 10 inch Galvanized Spike Nails for about a fifth of the cost.
** Plus a quick look at the rare book that inspired the idea in the first place; the 1938 National Park Service "Park and Recreation Structures" style guide for National Parks. This log barrier design came from the first volume, called Part 1 - Administrative and Basic Service Facilities, which covers everything from signage to drinking fountains to trail steps.
Let me know what you think in the comments, and as always feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Thanks for watching!
