I only found your channel a few days ago when I was looking for something regarding Polycrylic. I enjoy your approach and find your information very helpful. The chairs turned out beautifully, by the way. 🙂
@@NashvilleRestoration I've recently repainted my cherry wood dining room table with rust oluem spray painting champagne. My table looks beautiful but after placing the glass protector back on top of my table, in some spots the table was sticking to the glass and paint was lifted off. I bought plastic spacers to put in between the glass and table but unfortunately it did not work. This will be my third attempt to fix this problem and l was wondering if l should seal the table? I will also be buying a bigger rubber type of suction cup spacer for the glass next time. Any suggestions would be appreciated 🙂
I just finished my first chalk painted armoire.. And didn't have any of the recommended sealants on hand but I did have a can of 2X matte clear coat! I did just a little corner in the back with no issues And looked good! Great hack! Liked and subscribed thank you! Your Furniture looks great as well!
I have this clear spray and was looking to get a chalk paint sealer across town because my local store didn’t have it….but then I read the reviews and the chalk paint sealer had reviews of it yellowing and also causing the chalk paint to strip off! I thought why can’t I just use my rust oleum clear coat spray? So I was able to find your video with the exact answer I needed! Thankyou so much for doing this. Now I don’t have to buy anything!
Exactly what I was looking for .... to-the-point review of Rust-Oleum 2X Matte Clear spray... I was searching if it can be used as top / finishing coat for chalk painted furniture and found your vdo! Now I know I made the right choice when shopping lol! The chair looks beautiful btw ;)
Thank you for the fanning tip. I am constantly fighting the pooling issue, as i use a lot of spray paint ,and I am so happy i learned how to avoid this issue. 👍
I learned that yellowing from non-yellowing top coats is not due to the sealer, but it is due to the tannins in the wood. It would be great to see if this product would act like a shellac to seal the wood prior to covering in say a white, which can easily show the yellowing from the bare wood tannins. Have you tried this by chance?
@@NashvilleRestoration thank you so much. I have been worried that I needed to add some kind of poly over the top of it. I like the way this worked and looks. I just want to make sure I have longevity as well. I love your videos!
What is the color of the chalk paint you used on the chair. My wife and I are re doing some bar stools. I use the Matte Rust-Oleum on just about everything. Keep up the great work and awesome tips.
